CHRIS CHRISTIE IS AMERICA'S HOTTEST POLITICIAN?

In what's sure to add more hot air to an already over-inflated ego comes news that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is, apparently, the "hottest" political figure in the country. That's according to something called a new 'temperature poll'. So now I'm quite sure this will cause us to soon be hearing much more from this pompous windbag. Anyway, in arriving at this conclusion, voters were recently asked to give politicians a number from 0-100 representing how they feel about a specific figure, with 0 being least favorable, or coldest, and 100 being most favorable, or warmest. The information in this new Quinnipiac survey was released on Monday.

Christie’s mean score came out at 53.1 and was sufficient to place him at the top of this rather less than impressive heap. Because coming in in what was described as being a close second, was none other than Hitlery Clinton, at 52.1 degrees, and in what was perhaps the most bizarre of all, even a little disturbing, was the fact that we had that proverbial dingbat, as well as being the senior senator from Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren, coming in in third place, at 49.2 degrees. And that was despite the fact that 51 percent of voters didn't know enough about her to make a judgment. But hey, isn't that the same way that Barry got elected?

Moving on down the list we come to Barry "Almighty" who came in in fourth place at 47.6. And when looking for those likely to be Christie’s potential rivals for the 2016 GOP nomination we find my personal favorite, Ted Cruz, coming in at 46.8 degrees, and my former personal favorite, Marco Rubio, at 46.5. And at the bottom of the list we find the four congressional leaders: Nancy "Queen Botox" Pelosi at 38.4; Mitch "The Wimp" McConnell at 37.5; John "Spineless" Boehner at 36.7; and, in last place we have 'Dingy Harry' Reid at 33.8. I find it rather surprising that it's old 'Botox' Pelosi who ranks the highest of the four.

But when the question was limited strictly to Republican voters, those who comprise the theoretical Republican field for 2016 fared far differently. Because then we see Christie dropping, and rather precipitously, to eighth most popular in that survey, while yet another RINO, Paul Ryan, comes out sitting atop the pile at 68.7 degrees. And we also see Cruz, Rubio, Scott Walker, Rand Paul, Jeb Bush and Rick Santorum all coming in above Christie, and all with at least 60 degrees. Mr. Christie came in at 59.8 degrees among his fellow Republicans. We must not allow ourselves to be conned into believing that Christie is something that he's not.

I'll be the first to admit that I was at one time a pretty vocal supporter of Mr. Christie. But as it turned out, I, along with a good many others, were just a bit to quick in choosing to jump on the Christie bandwagon. But, be that as it may, I've been made to come to my senses by none other that Mr. Christie himself, who has obviously started to believe too much of his own press. Personally, I soured on him when he pretty much turned his back on Romney at a time, I think, he could have made a difference. But he was more interested in himself than in the country. Which remains as being his most significant, and least acceptable, flaw.
