I suppose when you’re someone like Nancy Pelosi, someone
who happens to be one of the richest members of Congress, it’s pretty easy to
dismiss the $1000 and $2000 bonuses that many companies are now giving to their
workers, due to lower tax rates, as being little more than “crumbs” and describe
them as being “pathetic.” And I find the
fact that she would see it as appropriate to make such an idiotic comment quite
revealing in that it makes clear just how out of touch with reality she truly
is.
So anyway, it was at her weekly press conference
just yesterday that Pelosi said, “A number of bonuses — one of the bonuses was
in a union contract and then they added a little more money to that. That same
firm just told the employees they were going to be laying off 1,500 people and
if they wanted to save their jobs, they could work 32 hours. In terms of the
bonus that corporate America receives versus the crumbs they are giving to
workers to put the schmooze on is so pathetic.”
She added, “It’s so pathetic. I would hope that with
their big advantage of bringing money home at a very low rate that they would
invest in infrastructure and things, but the experience has been that they will
do dividends, they’ll do stock buybacks and things like that. I think it’s
insignificant.” Even if she’s not in
favor of the tax bill, for whatever bizarre reason, you’d think someone who
professes to be a “master legislator” could have used a better choice of words
when describing her position.
More than two million American workers have thus far
received bonuses thanks to the Republican tax bill, according to a list from
Americans for Tax Reform. Other major companies including Walmart and Wells
Fargo also announced they would increase their starting hourly wage in response
to the tax bill. Additionally, more than
80 percent of Americans are expected to see their taxes go down in 2018 thanks
to the Republican tax bill, which Pelosi has claimed would result in
“Armageddon.”
People like Pelosi have absolutely no concept of
what $50 a week means to the average person working hard to make a living, or the
importance of a little breathing room when it comes to buying gas or groceries. Pelosi has never had to worry about putting
gas in her car or about filling her pantry. She has been living off of us for decades! One thing you can say about President Trump, while
he may be a billionaire he hasn’t lost touch with the everyday Americans who
deserve far better.
Let’s face it, the Democrat base has been pretty
thoroughly indoctrinated by the progressive cabal that wants us globalized, and
is unaware of everything that seems so obvious to the rest of us. Democrats did
it through control of the education of our children since 1960, whom they
effectively brainwashed. I think we all
have those family members or friends who believe the lies. And they’re 100% sincere in their admiration
of Obummer and his policies, and in their mindless hatred of Trump.
They have a sizable blind spot, refusing
instinctively to avoid the historical evidence of the consequences of
socialism, and most were Bernie or Hitlery supporters. They cannot be swayed by hard evidence on the
ground, no matter how convincing, instead they point to articles from all
manner of ‘fake news’ organizations, quoting them as if they are gospel and yet
they are little more than lies. They
have allowed themselves to be convinced that what we are looking at is the
beginning of the end.
And I seriously doubt that any of those who have received
these raises and bonuses view them as being “pathetic.” Pelosi, like the majority of others within her
party, is just bummed because she is made to watch slaves of the ‘Liberal
Plantation’ thanking President Trump for raising their standard of living, even
if just a bit. Pelosi and the Democrats simply
can't have people being able to make more money, or to keep more of their own
money, because they would then no longer ‘need’ the Democrats.
And let’s be honest here, the vast majority of those
who vote Democrat don’t pay federal taxes, or pay very little, in first place
and yet receive what are ironically referred to as ‘refund’ checks. How the Hell does that work? And it’s these same sponges who are more than
a little frightened that they may come to lose some of their beloved entitlements,
or those things that we taxpayers refer to as being freebies for freeloading
parasites who spend their lives with their hands out.
While I’d like to think that perhaps Nancy made a
big mistake here, putting her elitism front and center, I doubt her comment
will have much of an impact on the party faithful. Of course, she's filthy
rich. I hope these millions who are getting these increases will remember next
November how they came about. I can't
recall an event that even begins to approach this outpouring of companies to
their employees that in the process removes the oppressive boot of the
Democrats from their necks.
What’s truly pathetic here is that Pelosi long ago
needed to be herded off to the ‘home.’
Democrats hate helping ‘We the People’, and they hate tax cuts. They want to raise taxes constantly in order to
get more money with which to buy votes via all manner of freebies handed out to
dumbed down voters on the Democrat plantation who willingly trade their votes
for trinkets and shiny baubles. Look at
any Democrat led city in the nation, they are all failures because liberalism
leads to failure.
I think it fair to say that Pelosi and her fellow
Democrats hate the fact that more Americans will be able to keep more of their own
money. The Democrats believe that Americans are too stupid to be able to spend
their own money correctly, and they believe that the money you earn should be
given to them by paying higher taxes because they know better how it should be
spent. Those who consistently vote Democrat are a little more than lemmings
happy to let the government run their lives.
I do have a question for Ms. Pelosi. What is it that she and her fellow Democrats
did for American workers during the eight years before President Trump? How much did the minimum wage increase? How many workers lost their jobs because the
companies they worked for went overseas? How many companies decided they could no longer
afford bonuses or to provide healthcare coverage? Am I to assume that that’s simply how it
works in the wild, wacky world of the Democrat Party?
When the Republicans come up with a popular and yet brilliant
idea like reducing taxes on businesses that allows them to be more competitive
while at the same time giving tax relief to their workers, the Democrats call it
a bad idea. And yet, no matter how bad
of an idea the Democrats come up with it’s always described as being absolutely
brilliant, the best idea ever. The
trouble is their ‘brilliant’, well excepted ideas always end up costing the
taxpayers a fortune and not helping anyone!
