I’m sure we all remember quite well how it was that
then-candidate Trump said if elected he would be going to Washington with the
intent of “draining ‘The Swamp.’” Well, as we know he was elected and after
being in office now for over two years, if anything we’re seeing that ‘The
Swamp’ is proving to be more than just a little difficult to drain and on more
than one occasion has been more than resilient.
And there have been reasons for that, not the least of which is what, I
think, can be referred to a rogues’ gallery, of a sort, comprised of those we
call…RINOs.
And it has been yet again, in his effort to build
‘The Wall’, that these RINOs have once again joined hands with their Democrat
colleagues in holding the American people hostage by choosing to continue with
a partial shutdown of the government that was brought about ONLY because of
President Trump’s desire to make good on a promise he made to the American people
when running for president. The
president is asking for no more, actually it’s much less, than many of those
now blocking ‘The Wall’ have actually voted FOR in the past regarding the
constructing of an actual wall.
This time around we had six RINO players involved in
thwarting the president and who voted for a spending bill that does not contain
the president’s increased border wall funding request. And while there was a new face among them,
this cast of characters should come as no surprise. The six RINOs who chose to stab the people in
the back and side with the Democrats were: Mitt Romney (UT), Lamar Alexander
(TN), Susan Collins (ME), Cory Gardner (CO), Johnny Isakson (GA) and Lisa
Murkowksi (AK).Romney is showing his stripes early and neither Collins nor
Murkowski is a surprise.
The Senate failed to pass two separate spending
bills that would end the historically long government shutdown. First, the
Senate failed to pass President Trump’s “compromise” spending bill that
contained $5.7 billion in border wall funding in exchange for a three-year
extension of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program for
illegal aliens. The Senate also failed to pass a clean continuing resolution
(CR) that would fund the government through February 8 but did not contain any
increased funding for the border wall.
Romney infamously released an op-ed in the
Washington Post in which he attacked the president’s character and America
First policies. Despite Romney’s many spats with the president, Romney said in
an interview with the Communist News Network (CNN) that he will “be with
Republicans” on the government shutdown.
But as we are now finding out that was simply one more on what has
become a very long list of Romney’s lies.
And it was ahead of the vote that Collins had said, “The shutdown is so
extraordinarily unfair.” And she added, “I’ll vote yes and yes” on both bills.
But Collins has a history when it comes to bucking
this president, as well as her party. In the past it was she and fellow RINOS
Murkowski and John ‘The Maverick’ McCain who tanked the Obamacare repeal twice. Murkowski also voted against confirming Judge
Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court despite historic Democrat opposition to
his confirmation. Gardner said that
voting to re-open the government was the right thing to do. And Alexander contended in a statement after
the votes that neither party should use a government shutdown as a bargaining
chip.
The president should simply move ahead, declare an
emergency, because it really is, and be done with it. Then get to work constructing ‘The Wall’,
begin the deportation procedures, rev up ICE to find as many as possible and
deport them. Also, we need to start going after those businesses who knowingly
hire illegals, they aren't Republican donors anyway, and deport the illegals
and levy serious fines against those who insist upon hiring these people. When Democrats and RINOs squeal, which they
will, the president can say, “I gave you a chance to fix this, but you wouldn't,
so I fixed it.”
When it comes to the building of ‘The Wall’ and the
efforts of ‘The Swamp’ to prevent it from becoming a reality, President Trump
needs to kick their collective ass until their noses bleed. Let’s face it, Collins is a fraud, Murkowksi
is a liar, Gardner is a coward, Alexander a loser, Romney is arrogant and Isakson
is ignorant! All are essentially nothing
more than enemies of the country and that makes them enemies of the people as
well. They are all the usual suspect, and all worship big government! And like
Democrats, they have ever met a government program they didn’t like.
I have become extremely frustrated with many of
those in the Republican Party. But that
said, I’m yet to the point of those who advocate abandoning the party in favor
of starting something new. I would argue
that we do NOT need some third party that would accomplish nothing more than to
split the vote, for generations, and would virtually guarantee the Democrats
would remain in power for as far as the eye can see into the future. We need to transform the Republican Party and
we do this by taking our seriously as voters, choosing more wisely people for important
political positions.
I must admit that I am beginning to worry about the
president’s willingness to hang tough against the likes of Schumer, Pelosi and
their RINO friends. He must realize that
there will always be some level of collateral damage in the short term, but
it’s the long term that must be the focus in his continuing effort to secure
our southern border. The ‘fake news’
will no doubt continue to echo all manner of report, or poll, about how
ineffective ‘The Wall’ would be in controlling the influx of drugs of those
seeking illegal entry into this country, or how it does nothing regarding those
already here.
So now we have at least the appearance of once again
caving to the Democrats, with zero progress being made toward construction of
the much needed wall. And I’m beginning
to question the president’s willingness to stick to his guns when it comes to the
one campaign promise that caused people to vote for him. Of course it doesn’t help that he has so many
from within his own party who would rather side with the enemy than with the
president who was elected by the very same voters who elected them. It’s now crunch time Mr. President. BUILD THE DAMN WALL!!!
