WE SHOULD NEVER TRUST THE GOVERNMENT…

After having witnessed everything that we have of at least the last few decades, and especially since the arrival of Barack Obama (BO) arrived onto the political scene, just how unbelievably naïve must one have to be to have blind trust in those who comprise our government? And if you happen to be one of those who happens to be a proponent of ever bigger and more powerful government then I can only assume that you are also likely to be someone who believes that one from the government tells you that they are here to help you, you’re likely foolish enough to believe. Speaking for myself the only thing I want from my government is to be left alone.

And it was on Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” that New York Times columnist David Brooks, who laughingly refers to himself as a conservative, stated that while deep distrust of the government “probably is justified” by the government’s behavior, looking at D.C.’s “glorious and inspiring buildings, and thinking, that’s full of monsters, all that’s illegitimate, it’s all a fraud. To me, I can’t even imagine that mindset, to be honest.” So is this boob genuinely of the opinion that trust in our government should exist solely because of “glorious and inspiring buildings?” I’m guessing someone needs to explain to Mr. Brooks that unfortunately the glorious buildings are full of crooks.

Brooks said, “Well, to me, the number one most important statistic in my life covering this stuff has been, two generations ago, you asked people, do you trust government to do the right thing most of the time? And 75 percent said, yes. And now, what is it, 12 percent, 19 percent? It bounces around, but it’s phenomenally low. And so, imagine walking around the city where I live in Washington, D.C., looking at all — what I think of as glorious and inspiring buildings, and thinking, that’s full of monsters, all that’s illegitimate, it’s all a fraud. To me, I can’t even imagine that mindset, to be honest.” How nice it must be to live in the land of unicorns and rainbows.

And this dolt then went on to say, “But it is a mindset that a lot of people have, and, frankly, because of things that have happened over the last 30 or 40 years, a lot of people feel is justified. It probably is justified, because of the failures of a lot of things that have happened in this country over that time.” The diminishing of citizens’ rights, and on so many different levels, was once unheard of in America, but not anymore. The endless persecution of a candidate the leftists don’t like amounts to their attempting to nullify the votes of the people. Do these fake intellectuals ever crack open a book? This country was founded on the inherent mistrust of government.

Brooks can’t imagine being one of those insufferable hicks who doesn’t want to be invaded by Latin America or overtaken by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). When you’re living in DC and are beholden to ‘The Swamp,’ and all the benefits that can be derived from it, it probably seems fine. But if you’re in the hinterlands and are on the boot end of the government, you’ve learned to have a much different perspective on things. People don’t trust the government because those in the ‘fake news’ media, like Mr. Brooks, don’t hold those in government accountable. These people were intended to be the watchdog of the powerful, instead they’ve become the lap dogs.

What would ever possess anyone to distrust their government? OK, sure, we all have no option but to pay our taxes, unless you happen to be Al Sharpton. And just what is it that they do with all that money? Well, for one thing they use it to indoctrinate our children into hating their own country. They use it to import millions of people who care nothing about our values or our history, and who, in some cases, outright despise us and who possess a murderous intent. They send aid to countries who genuinely hate us while law and order breaks down here in our own country. But golly jeepers, those buildings are so nice! How could anyone think they house evil people?

Our Constitution, and the other founding documents that gave rise to our nation, are nothing but words on paper. It’s the people in government who are responsible for making government work. If they are corrupt and are not weeded out, the disease will only continue to fester until it is too late. And it has been Mr. Brooks, and those like him, who have been negligent when it comes to playing their part in the weeding out of those who have no place in government. Brooks is a 40-year fake ‘Republican,’ used by the ‘fake news’ media to fool the gullible public into believing that normal Republicans are all ‘radical,’ when it’s the Democrats who have become radicalized.

And what I have a problem with is trying to understand mindset of Mr. Brooks, and those like him. Yes, Washington, DC is most definitely a beautiful city, with beautiful architecture. It holds our founding documents for all to see, documents by which we are supposed to be governed. Documents which bestow upon us our inalienable rights. Rights which the current administration is destroying before our very eyes. And again, it’s Mr. Brooks, and those like him in our ‘fake news’ media, that keep protecting those people. And I say, shame on them. Our government is no longer a friend and/or a servant, but is instead an untrustworthy and self-serving big brother.

America was not founded for the benefit of those who think and believe as the Leftists do today. Self-government has never been a concept that Leftists could understand and embrace. The American experiment in self-government had never before been attempted in human history. The Left wants to take us back to familiar ground where tyranny, despotism, dictatorship and anarchy reign supreme. Honesty should cause every citizen to distrust the government. Everything the government does, or says, should require complete accountability to the people. That accountability is supposed to be where those in our news media come in, and where that have failed us.

Finally, even Mr. Brooks should realize that all government is inherently evil by its very nature, and when it is populated by the scoundrels and traitors who are able to spend decades in power it does things that are abhorrent, and the level of trust in it by we the people drops precipitously. The absolutely scandalous and shameful ongoing witch hunt to eradicate Donald J. Trump comes immediately to mind. There has never been such a thing in all of American history and one would have to be willfully blind not to see it and know it for the pure corruption that it is. Our current government is railroading the American people right now. No sane person should trust it.

TAXES, AT WHAT POINT ARE WE PAYING ENOUGH???

I’m curious to know just how much money it is that these assholes in Congress actually think that we have left. I mean, first of all we have Barry "Almighty", courtesy of his EPA, jacking up our monthly utility bills all because of bogus ‘climate change’. And at the same time we’re being forced to pay more for gas because Barry refuses to open up federal lands for oil exploration remaining, at the same time, quite content to leave us energy dependent on radical ragheads. And now we have a RINO teaming up with a Democrat in an effort to jack up the cost for gas even more with a higher gas tax. Is this making sense?

Anyway, this most recent proposal for picking our pockets a little further comes to us by way of two U.S. senators. These two boobs recently unveiled their plan which would raise federal taxes on both gasoline and diesel fuel. The basis for their little plan is twofold. First they say it’s because these taxes have not been increased in more than two decades and secondly they pitch their proposal as the solution to Congress' struggle to pay for highway and transit programs. Lord knows there’s nowhere else out of the $3 Trillion that the government will collect in taxes this year that they could possibly come up with the necessary funds.

This idiotic plan is being offered up by Sens. Chris Murphy, Democrat from Conn., and Bob Corker, RINO from Tenn. The plan would raise the 18.4-cents-a-gallon federal gas tax and 24.4-cents-a- gallon diesel tax by 12 cents each over the next two years, and then index the taxes to keep pace with inflation. The plan also calls for offsetting the tax increases with other taxes cuts. Like that’s likely to happen! And to tell you the truth, maybe if gas was still around $1.85 like it was when Barry first came into office, I probably wouldn’t mind all that much if they wanted to jack up the gas tax! But it’s not $1.85, it’s $3.70 a gallon!

Now I’m pretty sure that most everyone out there is well aware that it’s supposed to be the federal Highway Trust Fund that pays for highway and transit aid. And now we’re being told that this is yet another one of those trust funds now being destined to go broke, this one by late August. We’re also told that revenue from gas taxes and other transportation user fees that go into the fund haven't kept pace with federal aid promised to states. Knowing these scumbags as I’m quite sure that we all do, it’s most likely that this "trust fund" was long ago spent on things totally unrelated to what the money was actually to be spent on.

And am I the only one who sees it as being more than a bit ironic that while we’re being told by our illustrious leaders that we should drive less and drive cars that are more fuel efficient, and then when we do, we’re essentially penalized? Because now we’re being told that because we’re not driving enough and that the cars we’re driving are just too darn fuel efficient, we’re just going to have fork over more in taxes to make up for lost revenue. All because the nation's infrastructure is aging, creating greater demand for new and rebuilt roads and bridges and because the cost of construction has increased.

And in trying to justify the further ripping off of the taxpayers, Murphy, the Democrat sponsor of this act of larceny, said in a statement, "For too long, Congress has shied away from taking serious action to update our country's aging infrastructure." This statement went on to say, "We're currently facing a transportation crisis that will only get worse if we don't take bold action to fund the Highway Trust Fund." Ah yes, so here we have yet another crisis for which the only possible solution is to demand that an already cash-strapped public fork over more money. That seems to be the answer for just about everything.

And then we have his partner in crime, RINO Corker who in offering up his idiotic rationale for raising the gas tax, said, "Congress should be embarrassed that it has played chicken with the Highway Trust Fund and allowed it to become one of the largest budgeting failures in the federal government." Ok, so once again we the taxpayers are left holding the bag because of gross congressional incompetence. Like I mentioned earlier, the government is projected to take in over $3 Trillion in tax revenue in fiscal year 2014. At what point should be able to consider ourselves to have ‘contributed’ enough to the running of our government?

THE GOVERNMENT WORMS ITS WAY A LITTLE FURTHER INTO OUR HOMES…

So, moving on from dictating to us what size of toilet we are permitted to have in our homes today, the f#*king government has now moved on in taking it upon itself to tell us what kind of light bulbs we are permitted to use in order to light our homes. And so it is then, that the standard 100-watt light bulb has now gone the way of the dodo bird, and its lower-wattage cousins will soon follow. As of today U.S. bulb makers are no longer permitted, by our illustrious government, to manufacture the 100-watt bulb, part of what is a multiyear push to boost the efficiency of the nation's lighting. Boost the efficiency of the nation’s lighting? That’s the excuse they’re using? You gotta be kidding me!

Anyway, for consumers, the law makes the purchase of light bulbs less of a choice of convenience and more like an investment choice, with a need to balance higher up-front costs against what is described as longer-term electricity savings. Some of these, what are called, "high-efficiency" bulbs cost more than $20 each and are, we’re told, designed to last more than 20 years. "The light bulb is moving from a 60-cent commodity that you throw into your grocery cart to an investment just like a refrigerator or major appliance," said Terry McGowan, director of engineering for the American Lighting Association, some industry trade group. "It costs more money and you expect it to do more, and if you move, you might even take it with you."

So now I’m have to treat my light bulbs as if they were just another appliance? That nuts! We’re told that the old-style bulbs will be on shelves for some time, but lower-wattage incandescent bulbs will be phased out over the course of the next two years. This idiotic law allows stores to sell their remaining stocks of these ‘banned’ bulbs and replacement bulbs using halogen and other technologies are already on store shelves. The incandescent bulb, with its tungsten filament, was a breakthrough in lighting 100 years ago, a vast improvement over the 19th-century designs of Thomas Edison and others. Its shortcoming, we’re told, is that only 10 percent of the energy is converted to light, with the rest lost as heat. So freakin what?

Lighting industry officials say that bulb makers have supported the federally mandated switch to energy-efficient, ‘higher cost’ designs, and I can see why. They are so onboard with it that they have already halted production of ‘banned’ bulbs. And, they say, Congress' recent action to bar enforcement of the law by the U.S. Energy Department won't turn back the clock. "The law doesn't change, and we're still complying," said Anne Guertin, a spokeswoman for Osram Sylvania, which retooled its incandescent bulb plant in Pennsylvania to manufacture halogen bulbs that meet federal standards. The law's ban on standard 75-watt bulbs takes effect today and a year later for standard 40- and 60-watt bulbs.

Thousands of specialty bulbs, including 100-watt incandescents designed to stand up to rough treatment, are exempt from the manufacturing ban. Although, I’m not sure how on defines ‘rough treatment,’ when describing a light bulb. Other so-called exempted bulbs include three-way bulbs and flame-shaped lamps for chandeliers. But for consumers, a trip to the store for bulbs is likely to be more confusing and costly because of the array of new, longer-lasting options. Confusing because of new federally mandated labels offer guidance on lumens, or light output, and long-term cost savings on electricity. Consumers looking to replace a 100-watt bulb, for example, would look for a bulb with 1,600 lumens.

Choices will vary, from a compact fluorescent (CFL) bulb, which uses up to 75 percent less energy. A second option looks like a traditional bulb but has a halogen core that supposedly uses 23 percent less energy. Another emerging contender is the light-emitting diode, or LED, bulb that fits into a standard socket. They are energy efficient and long lasting, but cost more than $20 each. LEDs don't offer an equivalent to the 100-watt standard bulb, but one is being developed, said McGowan of the lighting association. The method of choice here for those trying to essentially modify our behavior is to make the claim that we consumers will save nearly $6 Billion annually on electricity costs by 2015. So what, so Barry can raise our taxes?

Some Republicans, and rightly so, have opposed the law as a restriction on freedom of choice.  And it was in an omnibus spending bill that avoided a federal government shutdown last month, Republicans inserted a provision barring the use of federal funds to enforce and implement the bulb law for nine months. Though it has caused confusion, that measure may have little effect. The 2007 law still took effect Saturday and manufacturers are still obligated to comply, according to the Energy Department. "The realistic view in the lighting industry is that everything is going to go as normal," McGowan said. "The plans are made. The shelves are stocked. The products are ready."

So, what’s the next step for our government that seems to get a little more out of control with each passing day? Let’s see. I’m almost afraid to even consider the possibilities. More and more of our personal choices are being assumed by the government, with the process having accelerated considerably over the coarse of the last four years. And far to many Americans do not seem the least bit concerned that they are having less and less say in how they are able to live out their lives. Or, for that matter, how their children will be permitted to live their lives. The American dream is dying, actually it’s not just dying, it’s, essentially, being purposely destroyed by those in our very own government.
