DEMOCRATS GRASPING AT STRAWS IN THEIR EFFORT TO STOP ‘THE WALL’…

It would seem to me that those on ‘The Left’ are determined to leave no stone unturned in their continuing effort to pull out everything in their arsenal when it comes to attempting to derail President Trump's plans to construct a border wall and therefore better ensure the safety of ALL American citizens. The latest "obstacle" is a new lawsuit presented by far-left Congressman Raul Grijalva of Arizona and the Center for Biological Diversity, the purpose of which would be to delay construction of ‘The Wall’ until there can be a review completed of its ‘biological’ impact.  They claim that birds and "numerous endangered species will be adversely impacted" by ‘The Wall’.  First of all, am I like the only one who has never heard of this group, the ‘Center for Biological Diversity’? 

Anyway, this lawsuit that has now been filed demands that construction of Trump's border wall must suspended pending an environmental impact study.  And, sadly, I have no doubt that there will be found some sympathetic leftwing-kook-of-a-judge who, just like those who have stymied Trump efforts regarding the limiting of refugees from Moslem countries, will go along with allowing it to proceed.  And then it was on MSNBC, that the host of ‘MSNBC Live’, Craig Melvin, chose to dedicate an entire segment of his nonsensical little ‘fake news’ program to advance the cause, and, in an effort to assist him in proving his ideological point, brought on Animal Planet's Jeff Corwin to discuss the issue, which, of course, Corwin went on to characterize as being an "unprecedented catastrophe."

It was in talking about ‘The Wall’ that Corwin said, ‘It’s poised to cut through more than 1200 miles of habitat along the border between the United States and Mexico. There are over 90 threatened and critically endangered species that are in the crosshairs because of this wall. And we’ve got over 100 migratory birds that will be impacted from this wall.  The endangered Mexican gray wolf – only 133 individuals left of this iconic carnivore, this amazing canine. Its head is on the chopping block and likely can fall to extinction.”  Clearly this is nothing more than yet another stalling tactic engineered by those on the Left and there would seem to be an unlimited supply of useful idiots - I mean, environmentalists – willing to assist in trying to advance this patently idiotic cause and in whatever way they can. 

Corwin would go on to say, “The expanse of the jaguar, just now being restored into its habitat in Arizona, will likely be extirpated, pushed back towards the precipice of extinction, because of this disastrous wall.”  Unfortunately Melvin didn’t bother to ask Corwin the questions that I’m sure that at least some in his audience would have liked to have heard asked, such as why not being able to commute into Arizona so “extirpates” the population of jaguars and Mexican gray wolves.  Modern environmentalists have now become the perfect example of that old Lenin quote, “The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves.”  Yes, it would seem that insanity runs deep there on the left and there never seems to be shortage of those willing to prove just how impressively braindead they truly are.

Melvin chose to tiptoe around the obvious question about birds saying, “At the risk of sounding ignorant or foolish, the birds specifically.  Wouldn’t they just be able to fly over the wall?  To which Corwin responded, “Excellent question.”  And he went on to say, “Certainly, many animals that fly can migrate over that wall. But many animals stay very low. For example, birds and bats are actually passing close to the ground surface because they’re heading toward plants for pollination, for seeds that they eat, or fruits. For example, Craig, you may not even know this, but 50 percent of the plants in the Sonoran desert, those cactus, 50 percent of them, have their seeds dispersed, or their flowers pollinated by bats, and bats use echo-location to navigate, and clearly a wall would be a terrible obstacle for them.”

That makes bats sound so impaired it's a miracle they aren't already extinct. The Arizona State University School of Life Sciences explains: "Using echolocation, bats can detect objects as thin as a human hair in complete darkness. Echolocation allows bats to find insects the size of mosquitoes, which many bats like to eat."  Look, Corwin has helped cable-news networks hype green threats before.  In 2007, Corwin was sponsored by CNN to be an environment correspondent for an Anderson Cooper 360 special called Planet in Peril.  In 2009 Corwin also hosted a television special for MSNBC with the same title of his book Future Earth: 100 Heartbeats.  Also in 2009, Corwin partnered with the activist group Defenders of Wildlife to host the documentary series Feeling the Heat with Jeff Corwin. 

And please excuse my confusion, since I am not a Democrat, but how it is that at first Democrats were saying that it would only take a 12 foot ladder to defeat an 11 foot wall and now, all of a sudden, it’s that very same wall that is said to be too tall for a bird to fly over?  And perhaps Corwin should use google if he wants to know the truth about gray wolves:  "Today, gray wolves have populations in Alaska, northern Michigan, northern Wisconsin, western Montana, northern Idaho, northeast Oregon and the Yellowstone area of Wyoming. Mexican wolves, a subspecies of the gray wolf, were reintroduced to protected parkland in eastern Arizona and southwest New Mexico. The historic range of the gray wolf covered over two-thirds of the United States."  So I’m not sure what his point may be.

And I’ll close with a question or two to Mr. Corwin.  That being, why can't the Mexican gray wolf just have sex in Mexico and reproduce there and hence prolong the species?  Or are they longing to come to America so they can have their pups here in the good ol’ U.S. of A. so that they can then be able to take advantage of programs that would make their lives so much easier?  And also, what is it, exactly, that birds need to fly here to eat that is not, for whatever reason, available to them south of the border?  But then I suppose that we should tread lightly here or the next thing we know, the still heavily Democrat EPA will declare the entire southern border to be a wetlands area (which, with the exception of the Rio Grande, is dry), on which there can be no development, lest it threaten some bug, reptile or fish.
