BETRAYED YET AGAIN???

Once again we are witness to the kind of behavior that makes it very clear that John Boehner, Eric Cantor nor Kevin McCarthy deserve to be in their current leadership positions in the House. Because the fact is that, apparently, all three have now decided to attend what is nothing more than a gathering sponsored by an anti-tea party group at a Florida Ritz-Carlton next weekend. Also 25 other Republican House members will be joining them. And by so doing, these three scumbags once again demonstrate their willful disregard for the trust that has been placed in them to combat all that Barry and the Democrats seem so determined to inflict upon our country.

This is what’s so frustrating about these ‘Establishment Republicans’. We the People already seem to have so few to whom we can actually turn. And at a time when we could very possibly be on the verge of handing over to the Republicans complete control of the Congress, this is not behavior we should allow to pass for being leadership. It should, instead, be viewed as behavior that stiffens our resolve, making us all the more determined to show up at the polls this November to vote every single one of these bastards out of office. And we can do that by voting for any Tea Party conservative whose name appears on the ballot in opposition to them.

This "Main Street Advocacy" event will take place on Amelia Island in Nassau County in the state's northeast, and will cost $5,000 a person to attend, RedState.com reported.  What this group is, apparently, is an offshoot of the Republican Main Street Partnership which is led by former Ohio Rep. Steve LaTourette, who has said he will help defend center-right congressional members in primary fights with Tea Party candidates. And of this new group he said, "They have decided to systematically go against the center-right Republicans in Primary elections." He went on to say, "Here's the deal — we didn't start this fight, but I'm going to finish it."

Also according to RedState, the Main Street Partnership has received donations from left-leaning unions, George Soros backed organizations, and a major Democrat donor. Such information tells me all I need to know about both these group and the individuals whom they support. Now I’m all for supporting those conservative candidates who have the best chance to win. But the key word here is ‘conservative’. And for far too long we’ve allowed ourselves to believe those who told us that they see things the way we see them, so we would vote for them and they would go back to Washington and act as if we didn’t even exist. That must now stop.

So it is then that these three, nor any of the 25 others, MUST not be allowed to get away with their betrayal completely unscathed. Every one of their constituents who finds themselves in disagreement with the actions of their representative MUST get on the phones and make their opinion known and that our vote is now hanging in the balance. For me, here in Florida’s 4th Congressional District, I’ve been doing my best to drum up support for our Tea Party candidate, Ryman Shoaf. My current congressman is Ander Crenshaw who, while he claims to be a conservative, has done precious little that proves it. We need to get busy!

IMMIGRATION…HAVE THE BACKROOM DEALS ALREADY BEGUN?

NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!

Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, aka House Speaker John Boehner and, his not so trusty sidekick, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, have now set their sights on completing an overhaul of the immigration system during the coming year. So instead of simply enforcing the laws already on the books, we need to, instead, come up with new laws. I get more than a little nervous whenever I hear these two talking about some nonexistent need for comprehensive immigration reform. Because what it usually means is that they have already begun to move in a direction most conservatives aren’t going to be too happy about. They have a rather nasty habit of saying one thing while in front of the TV cameras and something quite different once behind closed doors. They seem to think that we’re not paying attention.

Conservative immigration critics, however, and there are more than a few, have said that addressing the issue this year would be a mistake when lawmakers should instead be concentrating on defeating Obamacare. Republican Steve King, he would the King with a brain, has said, "It would be a colossal mistake for us to take up anything that would end up just changing the subject and getting it off Obamacare and on to something that splits the Republican Party." Meanwhile, Louisiana Republican Rep. John Fleming pointed out that Republicans would feel comfortable tightening the U.S.-Mexico border, but would likely restrict anything else. "There’s going to be a lot of pushback because we have a president we can’t trust," he said. Now there’s the understatement of the millennia.

And then we have Daniel Horowitz, policy director for the conservative Madison Project and a contributing editor for RedState.com, who said said in an op-ed piece for the site that the announcement was a "coordinated effort" by Boehner and Cantor to issue their call at the same time U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue was making his own call for amnesty. "We’re determined to make 2014 the year that immigration reform is finally enacted," Donohue said at his 2014 State of American Business address, reports CNN. "The Chamber will pull out all the stops – through grassroots lobbying, communications, politics and partnerships with unions, faith organization, law enforcement and other – to get it done." This group too, is not the least bit interested in moving in the direction that’s best for the country.

Horowitz asked why Republicans are in such a rush to pass immigration reform when they "have so little political power." He said, "These are the same folks who suggest that we can’t even block bad things with control of just the U.S. House, even though the House is vested with control over the purse strings." He went on to say, "Why would they think we can pass new immigration legislation built on conservative principles if it requires the cooperation of all three branches?" He continued by asking, " Why in the world would Republicans reward Obama’s malevolence and disregard for our immigration laws by granting him his biggest second-term agenda item? The fix is already in." Why indeed, Mr. Speaker? One wonders exactly who’s side it is that these guys are one.

We once again seem to be in the process of getting stabbed in the back by those who proudly declare themselves to be conservatives, but are anything but. And what is most frustrating is that we are rapidly running out of options to force them to listen to us. It seems to have now gotten to the point where we’re simply being ignored. Somehow over the course of the coming months we are going to have to gather sufficient forces and get rid of Boehner, and Cantor as well, if possible. Maybe then, those who remain behind will start paying more attention to those of us for whom they are supposed to be working. The people in Boehner’s district will have to put the country first and vote him out. There is just too much at stake and he has demonstrated too many times that he has absolutely no interest in doing what needs to be done.

REPUBLICANS INSIST UPON BEING THEIR OWN WORST ENEMY…

Ok, I’m now pulling out what’s left of the hair I still have. Can someone please explain to me how it is that a man who has been nothing more than an accomplice in the committing of what continues to be the greatest exercise in generational theft in our history, still has the nerve to spout off at those conservatives who dare oppose what is nothing more than yet another example of kicking the can a little further down the road. Because while Boehner is quite determined in his claims that it is in anyway a deficit reducer, the cold hard fact is, it isn’t. And with that, the debt run up by the federal government since House Speaker John Boehner cut his first spending deal with Barry "Almighty" has now officially topped $3 Trillion.

I’m sure many of us had some pretty high hopes after we wrestled control of the House from Nancy Pelosi back in 2010. But what has transpired since this is nowhere near what we were hoping for when Boehner became speaker in January 2011. This is not what we had in mind. But Boehner, apparently, seemed to quickly forget how he came to be in his present position. He cut his first spending deal with Barry on March 1, 2011, and that deal took effect after March 4, 2011 when the continuing resolution then funding the government expired. Since then, the federal government has been funded under legislation approved by the Republican-controlled House that Boehner leads. And there has been no slow down in spending.

Let me offer a brief refresher course of Boehner’s tenure as Speaker, at least as it regards to the explosive level of spending that has taken place during that time. At the close of business on March 4, 2011, the federal debt was $14,182,627,184,881.03, according to the U.S. Treasury. As of the close of business on Dec. 10, 2013, it was $17,234,005,998,603.93. That means that under federal spending deals negotiated during Boehner's speakership and approved by a Republican-majority House that Boehner leads, the federal debt has increased $3,051,378,813,722.90. And Boehner is far from being the only guilty party here. Another RINO, Paul Ryan, the architect of this latest boondoggle, has been seen everywhere championing it’s ‘benefits’.

So in what is meant to be nothing more than an attempt put things in some sort of perspective, it was at the end of January 1989, the month that Ronald Reagan left office, that the federal debt was $2,697,957,000,000, and that would be according to the Monthly Statement of the Public Debt. The debt did not exceed $3 Trillion until March of 1990, when George H.W. Bush was president. At the end of March 1990, the total debt the United States government had accumulated in its then-almost-214 years of existence was almost exactly as much as the increase in the debt during the less than three years of Boehner’s speakership or, $3,051,956,000,000. And he still feels that he can lecture us about deficit reduction? Really, John?

Boehner is the 53rd speaker of the House. The recently deceased Tom Foley, the 49th speaker, held the office in 1990 when the total debt topped the $3 Trillion mark. Under Boehner, the debt has now increased more in less than three years than it did under the first 48 House speakers combined—running from Frederick Muhlenberg of Pennsylvania to Jim Wright of Texas. The $3,051,378,813,722.90 increase in the debt since Boehner cut his initial March 2011 spending deal with Barry "Almighty" equals $26,530.729 for each of the 115,013,000 households the Census Bureau estimates there are now in the United States. And Boehner is not the only one who can be blamed, sadly our entire leadership team SUCKS!

And still, even after all that, he somehow feels entitled to throw what was really nothing more than a tantrum when challenged by certain conservative groups about what this latest bogus ‘budget deal’ is supposed to accomplish. The people of his district back in Ohio now have a responsibility to those of us in the rest of the country to vote this useless douchebag out of office come next November. I mean it’s this kind of stuff that the Republicans insist upon doing that just pisses people off. They seem quite determined to make themselves appear as being a slightly less liberal version of the Democrats. And if they actually think that Obamacare is going to be enough of an issue for them to win on, next November, they’re dead wrong!

THAT’S ONE BIG “IF”…

Sen. Ted Cruz was heard to say, just today, on a conference call that even if the Senate passes a continuing resolution (CR) that permits funding of Obamacare, the fight to defund it is not over. That’s because, he says, Obamacare cannot be funded unless the Republican-controlled House of Representatives agrees to do it. Cruz said, "House Republicans can, and I believe should, continue to stand their ground." He added, "And, so, if the House holds firm, Harry Reid has no ability to muscle the House of Representatives—if they stand their ground." And therein lies a mighty big ‘IF’. Because since assuming control of the House after the 2010 election, our less than impressive Republican leadership has been more than willing to quickly cede their ground on nearly every important issue.

Cruz said that the cloture vote the Senate will hold Friday on the House-passed version of the CR is the "most important" vote that senators will cast this year. In his view, that is because if at least 41 of 46 Republicans do not vote against cloture, and thus prevent the bill from coming to a final vote in the Senate, ‘Dingy Harry’ Reid, at this point in time, will be able to get simple majority vote of at least 51 Democrats to attach an amendment to the CR stripping the language defunding Obamacare. Nonetheless, sounding ever the optimist, Cruz said, if that happens the fight is not over because the bill must then go back to the House, and Obamacare cannot be funded unless the Republican-controlled House agrees to it. Well, that all sounds fine in theory, but I ain’t holding my breath.

"Number one, if enough Senate Republicans on tomorrow’s cloture vote decide to vote with Harry Reid and grant cloture to give Harry Reid the authority to fund Obamcare, that does not mean the fight is over," said Cruz. "It means Harry Reid will pass out of the Senate a continuing resolution that funds Obamacare, but it still goes back to the House." Cruz went on to say, "And even if Senate Republicans have not shown the same strength of will that House Republicans have shown, that doesn’t mean the fight is over because House Republicans can, and I believe should, continue to stand their ground." He added, "So, if the House holds firm, Harry Reid has no ability to muscle the House of Representatives—if they stand their ground." House hold firm? Just not seeing it.

Cruz said, "I have said before I think the most important role that I can play that [Sen.] Mike Lee [R.-Utah] can play, that others can play, is to serve as a cheerleader encouraging and supporting the House Republicans to stand with the American people," said Cruz. "Because the continuing resolution that the House passed reflects the strong will of the American people who understand that Obamcare is not working." But since when has the will of the people ever had much of an impact on what happens in Congress? The fact that Boehner & Co. actually took the step to defund, was a fluke. ‘Dingy Harry’ is just gonna throw it right back at them and I have little doubt that upon receipt they’ll quickly fold like a cheap suit, the will of the people be damned. But we’ll see, maybe I’m wrong. I hope so!

HOUSE REPUBLICANS ARE NOTHING MORE THAN MODERN DAY SNAKE OIL SALESMEN...

MIKE LEE, TELLIN IT LIKE IT IS

In a recent interview on the nationally syndicated Mark Levin Show, one of my favorites by the way, we heard Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) as he slammed the Republican-led initiative to simultaneously propose legislation that would both fund and defund Obamacare. Lee rhetorically asked Levin, "With Republicans like these, who needs Democrats?" And therein lies the reason so many are becoming, or have become, disenchanted with the Republican Party.

Lee explained how this scheme is supposed to work. It goes something like this: Our stellar Republican leadership in the House of Representatives intends to put forward two different legislative proposals in one single vote. One would defund Obamacare. And here’s where the scam comes into play. The other proposal would be a continuing resolution that would fund everything in government, and that would include all aspects of Obamacare.

I'm guessing that the entire purpose behind this idiotic little charade is that the House Republicans, at least our spineless leadership, think that by voting to both fund and to defund Barry's signature health law simultaneously, they can somehow fool those of who want this law repealed into believing they are actually working toward that end. But it's become more obvious all the time that nothing could be further from the truth.

Because as Lee makes very clear, this proposal would then be sent over to the Senate, the DEMOCRAT controlled Senate, which would then simply "pull apart the two pieces of legislation," and end up passing only the spending resolution that funds Obamacare. Come on, is this sophomoric kind of politics the best that we can now expect to see from our supposed leaders in Congress? It's getting to the point where it's embarrassing.

Lee said, "It allows for Republicans or anyone else who claims to be against Obamacare to be able to say they voted against funding Obamacare." He went on to say, "And yet, still at the same time, allow them also to fund everything in government including Obamacare." Adding, "It is the classic Washington two-step." I think I would describe it a little differently. And does Boehner and Cantor really think we're stupid enough to fall for it?

Lee called the initiative "disgraceful" and implored everyone in the House who purports to be against Obamacare to stand up to the leadership to prevent this proposal from hitting the floor. "This is the Washington political establishment versus everyone else in America and this represents the worst of Washington politics," Lee said. At this point I would argue that we no longer have any real leadership in the House. All we seem to have, are posers.

ARE WE ON THE VERGE OF GETTING SCREWED AGAIN?

As if I needed any less reason to support Paul Ryan as he seems to have now set his sights on being able to successfully navigate an amnesty bill through the House, it seems that the arm of the Mark Zuckerberg-backed immigration reform group that focuses primarily on supposed conservatives, is going on air in Milwaukee with a pro-reform spot and is specifically defending our Mr. Ryan. Now I gotta tell ya, anytime you have guys like Zuckerberg out there defending these supposed conservatives, little alarm bells should be going off in your head. And you need to be paying attention to them, because they're trying to tell you something!

Apparently, according to some source whose business, job or hobby it is to track the air waves, this bogus little group of Zuckerberg's with the even more bogus, innocuous sounding, name, Americans for a Conservative Direction, bought roughly $350,000 worth of TV ad time and targeted it squarely toward Ryan’s district. Now to put that into better perspective, that's almost double the amount that the anti-immigration Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is spending on 30-second spots accusing Ryan of backing "amnesty." Which is exactly what he's doing! He apparently wants to be the House version of Rubio.

The spot being run by Zuckerberg's group begins with a picture of Ryan and says, "Amnesty? Not a chance," and goes on to say the House budget chairman is looking at a "conservative solution" to the issue of immigration. It then focuses on more muscular pieces of the reform effort such as increased border security, E-verify and items like back taxes charged to illegal immigrants already in the country. The buy runs from Friday through Sept. 3 on both cable and broadcast networks. Now this should really call into question Ryan's calling himself a conservative if folks like Zuckerberg are coming to his defense.

Ryan and his RINO buds have been working quite feverishly to push through the House a version of what's being referred to as comprehensive reform which is really nothing short of amnesty. And as we heard earlier this week from Luis Gutierrez, a Democrat from Illinois, he's confident of already having 40-50 Republicans ready to vote for his amnesty bill. So it looks like the American people are once again poised to take it in the shorts yet again. Now I know Boehner has said that there would be no vote on any bill that did not have a majority of Republicans onboard, but do YOU trust him to stick to that 'promise'?

　
Look, I'm just getting so tired of being told to shut up and take it like man. And I'm not going to take it anymore. This whole notion of amnesty benefits no one but the Democrat Party, in that it will essentially create millions of brand new Democrat voters. So I'm just not understanding why it is that so many who call themselves conservative are in such an all fired hurry to make that into a reality. And if this drive is successful any hope of ever being able to rid ourselves of Obamacare will likely go up in smoke. We need to be on the phone and sending nonstop emails to our folks in the House. This effort must be STOPPED!!

GOP SUFFERING FROM A 'REAL' LEADERSHIP DROUGHT...

Well, might we have now been witness to yet another demonstration of what, these days, has come to be easily recognized as being the rather squishy brand of leadership that has become what's to be expected from our congressional Republicans? And once again it was Eric Cantor who again put on quite the display of talking without really saying anything, when he stated in an interview on "Fox News Sunday," that House Republicans could be amenable to a sequester deal if cuts to entitlement programs are part of the package, reports the Hill. I mean, haven’t we been down this road, and far too many times, already?

Cantor said, "What we need to have happen is leadership on the part of this president and the White House, to come to the table finally and say 'we're going to fix the underlying problem that's driving our deficit." Cantor went on to say, "We know that is the entitlement programs and the unfunded liability that they are leaving on this generation and the next." But if there is anything that we should have learned by now it's that that bothers the Democrats very little. And we also know that, as they have demonstrated far too many times to count, Democrats have zero interest in imposing ANY cuts in spending, no matter how small.

Let's not forget, now, that this entire sequester scheme was totally of Barry's making. It went into effect earlier this year and imposed what was really a rather paltry $44 Billion in across-the-board spending cuts but left entitlement programs such as social security and Medicare virtually untouched. Cantor said, "This fall is going to give us a great opportunity, I think, to all come together and try and tackle the real problem, which is the entitlements." Look, I don't know if he's naïve or simply stupid, but I think it safe to say that neither Barry, nor the Democrats in Congress, have any interest whatsoever in actually coming together to do anything.

Now according to the Huffington Post, which as we all know is a less than reliable source whenever discussing the Republican Party, Cantor believes spending cuts will only come about through direct bipartisan talks and not the heavy-handed implementation of sequester. "We've always said sequester is not the best way to go about spending reductions," Cantor said. "It was, as you know, a default mechanism, because Congress couldn't do the job it was supposed to a couple of years ago." Heavy-handed implementation of sequester? We're only talking about $44 Billion! I always get nervous when I hear such talk.

I'm nervous because whenever anyone of our 'leaders' start talking like this I get the rather uneasy feeling that I'm about to get screwed. That I'm in the midst of another one of those efforts designed to prepare us all for another vintage cave by our less than stellar group of supposed leaders. I just get so tired of being played for a fool by these guys in their $1000 suits who are supposed to be there to act on our behalf, not theirs. And we can only assume that they must think that we're stupid enough to fall for their antics. So, perhaps next November might just provide to us the perfect opportunity to demonstrate to them, that we're NOT!

TIME FOR THE HOUSE REPUBLICANS TO GROW A PAIR…

Here's yet another reason that I have zero confidence in any member of our 'stellar' leadership team in the House. I watched an interview that Eric Cantor gave on Hannity’s show last night where the primary topic of discussion was Barry "Almighty's" decision to delay for one year a key requirement of the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. Cantor stated that it was "a continuation of what we have begun to call the imperial presidency." Cantor went on to criticize Barry for selectively enforcing the law. He also said the individual mandate should be delayed along with the mandate that applies to employers. Good points, but they don't go nearly far enough.

But then things started to become a little less defined and just a bit more fuzzy. Because when Hannity asked if House Republicans would consider defunding Obamacare, since efforts to repeal it have not worked, Cantor proceeded to provide what can only be described as a rather confusing response. Confusing because not only did he not answer the question, what he said was pretty much completely incoherent. Not exactly a response I would have expected from someone in a 'leadership' position. And the entire time he was babbling on and doing his best to dance around the issue, I was standing there in front of my TV yelling at him to have some guts.

In trying to answer, while not answer, Hannity, Cantor said, "Right, and we have continued, when we -- to do just that, we've continued to say under the sequester that we're operating on, that the president says, you know, he wants to do something about it, but never has come forward with any kind of other suggested reforms in the entitlement areas. But when they ask for more money for Obamacare's implementation, we said no. We said no, we don't feel that this law is the right direction to go in. Nor do we feel this administration should have the ability to take taxpayer dollars to go and sell and market this bill." What? Is this guy really the best that we can do?

Cantor continued on, "But I think one of the options going forward, Sean, is to take a look at what this White House has done and say, you know what, if it's fair for big business to be exempted from this mandate, we ought to say the same for individuals. We ought to go ahead and delay the individual mandate, and as you know, that individual mandate is the crux of Obamacare, without the individual mandate, the whole law collapses." But the entire law would collapse without funding as well. And under the Constitution, the Executive Branch cannot spend any money from the Treasury unless Congress first appropriates it. So let’s not appropriate any! It ain’t rocket science!

Supposedly, Boehner and House Republicans are now considering a vote to delay Obamacare's individual mandate, at least that's what The Hill reported on Tuesday. And as it has also been reported, House Speaker John Boehner said earlier this year that he would not include language to defund Obamacare in the most recent continuing resolution (the one that passed in March) because, knowing that the Senate would not go along with defunding, Boehner didn't want to force a government shutdown. Well, John, you're simply gonna have to grow a pair. Either you want to lead or you don’t, and if you don’t, then get the Hell out of the way and let somebody who wants to!

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) told Fox News's Greta Van Susteren Tuesday night, and I watched this interview as well, that Obamacare should be defunded, particularly since the law is being selectively enforced. Lee said, "The point is, no Republican in Congress, no member of Congress from either house or political party, has any business voting to fund the operations of government if that funding package includes Obamacare funding. The American people aren't getting Obamacare implementation. They shouldn't be required to pay for it." Mr. Lee was spot on and was considerably more articulate than Cantor regarding what it is that needs to be done.

I’m sure all are aware of how last week, in the middle of the long holiday weekend, the Treasury Department quietly blogged that companies with 50 or more full-time employees would have an extra year to comply with the requirement that they provide "minimum essential" health insurance coverage to workers or else pay a fine. And despite claims to the contrary, that was done more for political reasons that any sudden, new found sympathy for the effected companies. But while the "employer mandate" was delayed for a year, the individual mandate was not, since it is the heart of Obamacare, and requires all Americans to purchase health insurance or pay a penalty to the IRS.

So as they say, our friend Speaker Boehner is going to need to shit or get off the pot when it comes to defunding this mess called Obamacare. And the same goes for Mr. Cantor. And it was The Heritage Foundation, in a July 9 fact sheet, that urged Congress to do just that. The folks at Heritage said, "Full defunding of Obamacare would halt the law’s new entitlements before they start—and prevent HHS from raiding other parts of the departmental budget to promote Obamacare." Adding, "Defunding Obamacare would also prevent the application of the law’s new regulations and 18 separate tax increases, including the tax for not complying with the individual mandate.

The bottom line here is that if Congress chooses not to fund Obamacare activities for the upcoming fiscal year, the Barry "Almighty" cannot act to implement the law. Congress can, and Congress should, act to defund all of Obamacare now. So our House leadership is going to have to get itself together and make the defunding of Obamacare one of their top priorities. And they need to concern themselves a little less about what will, or will not, happen in the Senate and a little more of how this disastrous thing touches the life of nearly every single American. The Republicans can either be seen as being the sane ones in the room in at least trying to get rid of this, or they can continue to pretend they’re doing something. I would not recommend the latter.
