It was at the same time which Iowans were preparing
to vote that there was a new poll that surfaced which once again seemed to make
it quite clear that the vast majority of Americans don’t view global warming/climate
change/climate disruption as being the most serious issue that our country
currently faces. It was a YouGov poll of
18,000 people in 17 countries which found that only 9.2 percent of Americans
rank global warming as being their biggest concern. Only Saudi Arabians were
less concerned coming in at 5.7 percent. The biggest concern for Americans was
global terrorism — 28 percent of Americans polled listed this as their top
issue.
So despite the best efforts of both Barry
“Almighty”, and his trusty sidekick John Kerry-Heinz to tout the
accomplishments of Barry’s administration in the area of global warming, most
Americans have remained unconvinced that it’s the country’s most pressing
issue. A Fox News poll conducted last November found only 3 percent of Americans
then listed global warming as their top concern. The Fox poll came out just
before Barry met with other world leaders in Paris to kick off yet another
round of negotiations for an international treaty to cut carbon dioxide
emissions. After weeks of haggling, United Nations delegates agreed to
non-binding emissions cuts.
And then came news that ‘government scientists’ had declared
2015 as the warmest year on record. Such
a charade only served to encourage leftist politicians and environmentalist
wackos to become more brazen in their efforts to build public support for more costly
regulations on fossil fuels. Michael
Brune, executive director of the Sierra Club, said, “In Paris, the entire world
acted as one by agreeing to a universal climate accord that set an expiration
date on fossil fuels–but now we must pick up the pace.” He added, “Unfortunately, fossil fuel
corporations are doing everything they can to hang on to their profits as long
as possible.”
Brune said, “Largely as a result, if one of the
leading Republican candidates were to be elected President of the United
States, they would be the only head of state on earth to oppose global climate
action.” But his insistence that
Republican lawmakers and corporations are responsible for keeping the American
public ignorant of the dangers of global warming doesn’t seem to be backed up
by the polling data. Polls have
consistently shown global warming never ranks high on the American public’s
radar. A CNN poll from January 2015
found that 57 percent of Americans did not expect global warming to threaten
their way of life.
And it was a Gallup poll taken in March 2015 that found
Americans’ concern about global warming fell to the same level it was in 1989.
Global warming ranked at the bottom of a list of Americans’ environmental
concerns — only 32 percent said they worried about it a “great deal.” And it was Gallup’s Jeffrey Jones who
wrote, “Importantly, even as global
warming has received greater attention as an environmental problem from
politicians and the media in recent years, Americans’ worry about it is no higher
now than when Gallup first asked about it in 1989.” Americans recognize a scam when they see one.
And now come to find out, the U.N. boondoggle arrived
at in Paris, the purpose of which, or so we are told, is to put a stop to
dangerous global warming, could cost as much as $12.1 Trillion over the next 25
years. And according to the calculations
done by Bloomberg New Energy Finance, with the assistance of the non-profit
sustainability advocacy organization nonprofit Ceres, “The required expenditure
averages about $484 Billion a year over the period.” That’s almost as much money the U.S. federal
government spent on defense in 2015. The required annual spending is almost 3.7
times more than the $131.57 Billion China spent on its military in 2014.
And let’s keep in mind here that Bloomberg’s
estimates are likely to end up being considerably low, as they exclude costly
energy efficiency measures. The amount
spent to meet global carbon dioxide emissions reduction goals could actually
end up being as high as $16.5 Trillion between now and 2030, when energy
efficiency measures are included, according to projections from the International
Energy Agency. And in an effort to put these numbers into some sort of perspective,
the U.S. government just recently went over being $19 Trillion in debt and only
produced $17.4 Trillion in gross domestic product in 2014.
American taxpayers spend an average of $39 Billion a
year financially supporting solar energy, according to a report by the Taxpayer
Protection Alliance. The same report shows Barry’s 2009 stimulus package
contained $51 Billion in spending for green energy projects, including funding
for failed solar energy companies such as Solyndra and Abound Solar. And let’s not forget how it was that Solyndra
was given a $535 Million loan guarantee by Barry “Almighty” before filing for
bankruptcy in 2011. Abound Solar got a $400 Million federal loan guarantee, but
was still force to file for bankruptcy in 2012 after making faulty panels that
routinely caught fire.
Despite relatively high levels of taxpayer support,
in 2014 solar and wind power accounted for only 0.4 and 4.4 percent of
electricity generated in the U.S., respectively, according to the Energy
Information Administration. Ironically,
solar and wind power have not done much to reduce America’s carbon dioxide
emissions. Studies show solar power is responsible for one percent of the
decline in U.S. carbon-dioxide emissions, while natural gas is responsible for
almost 20 percent. For every ton of carbon dioxide cut by solar power,
hydraulic fracturing for natural gas cut 13 tons. And yet to hear Barry talk you’d think much
greater strides are being made.
Look, what we are talking about here is the spending
of massive amounts of money with absolutely nothing to show for it. Except, of course, the making of the scam
artists behind this ‘climate change’ hoax, men like Al Gore, extremely
rich. More proof comes to light every
single day that so very clearly shows that this theory of manmade ‘climate
change’ is so completely bogus. But
those on the left who loudly proclaim themselves to be supporters of science
are really anything but. Because, you
see, the ONLY science they support is the science they claim supports their
many times over discredited claims. They’re
the true deniers! The ‘flat-Earthers! Not us!
