Here in the real world I think we can all agree that
Dan Blather, to put it politely, little more than a fraud. But to merely call him a fraud is, probably,
a bit of an understatement, because what he is, is a "disgraced news
fabricator." In the alternate universe
inhabited by those on the Left, however, Blather is seen as "legendary,"
a "respected news icon." And in what is being hailed by the
delusional Left as an epic takedown of Donald Trump, Blather shared a few words
of "wisdom" on Facebook. His screed is confined mainly to how the
honorable media, in the trenches daily, faces abuse at the hands of the
Republican nominee.
As you can imagine, it's wrought with typical
liberal revisionism and self-aggrandizement.
Says Mr. Blather:
“I
felt a shudder down my spine yesterday watching Donald Trump's fusillade
against the press. This is not a moment to be trifled with. It wasn't his first
tirade and it won't be his last....
This
is a dirty, nasty election. And it is only going to get worse. The reporters in
the trenches need no lecture from me. They are walking through daily
minefields, bracing themselves against winds of discontent whose effects no one
can predict.
I
know what it is like to sit in those seats and feel the scorn and even wrath of
politicians of all political persuasions. Attacking the press for unfair
coverage has long been a bipartisan pursuit. Sometimes it works. I am happy to
say that more often it doesn't. But Trump's brand of vituperation is
particularly personal and vicious. It carries with it the drumbeats of
threatening violence. It cannot be left unanswered.
Good
journalism--the kind that matters--requires reporters who won't back up, back
down, back away or turn around when faced with efforts to intimidate them. It
also requires owners and other bosses with guts, who stand by and for their
reporters when the heat is on.
I
still believe the pen is mightier than the sword. And in these conflicted and
troubled times, we should reward the bravery of the men and women not afraid to
ask the hard questions of everyone in power. Our nation's future depends on it.”
"Bravery?" So is that what media-bias and
bald-faced lies are being called these days? And is there no limit to Leftist
derangement? Apparently not. In fairness though, Blather is nothing if not
quite the melodramatic story-teller. Perhaps his skills are better suited for
the theater. Rather speaks of “reporters
in the trenches." That's the
problem, Mr. Blather, there are no reporters in the trenches reporting on the real
stories instead, they’re in the pocket of the DNC. The fact is, good journalism left the planet decades
ago. At the same time they became satisfied
to serve as useful idiots for the Democrat Party. Journalism is getting exactly
what it deserves.
When they decided to elect a president, a man who had
never even held any kind of a real job, and intentionally avoided even the
slightest attempt at vetting the candidate (because of his race), it was a
signal that journalism was officially dead in this country and can never again be
trusted to tell the truth. Poll after poll continues to point out just
how little trust the American people have in a press, the purpose of which was
to be the watchdog over their government.
But far from being a watchdog, today’s press amounts to being little
more than the lapdog of the left. A
purpose at which they not only excel, but very much seem to relish!
Let’s face it, those involved in our
state-controlled media have, over the years, had a lot of practice getting the
non-vetted elected. Had all of the slime that was available on ‘Slick Willie’
Clinton ever been made public, there would never have been the first Clinton
presidency, let alone the fact that we must now worry about there being a second.
Both ‘Slick’ and his wife would have long ago been the recipients of the
disdain they so richly deserve. And it’s
more than likely that at least one of them would have ended up in federal
prison and would still be there. But
sadly, that would require those in the media to actually do their job, which
they are not prone to do.
Look, I continue to have some pretty serious
reservations about Trump, but at the same time I must admit that I am thoroughly
enjoying watching him give our so-called mainstream media all they can handle,
and then some! After the nearly cultish way they have hung on Barry
“Almighty’s” every word (regardless of truth), I would argue that they are
deserving of everything Trump throws at them.
Blather continues to be the symbol of what many in our media have
become. They are less journalist then
they are advocates. They care not about
the country, only the next headline. And
it matters not if there is any truth to the headline, only that it gets the 'right' kind of attention.
