I‘ve never been a fan of Chris Wallace, and frankly I was surprised when he showed up over at Fox News. Surprised because, at least to me, he always seemed to be much better suited for a network like CNN or MSNBC. Seldom is he genuinely objective when he has a guest on his show who’s a conservative. He was, and remains, a member of the NeverTrump crowd, as evidenced by the open hostility he directed at candidate Trump and has continued to direct at President Trump.
So on Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s
“America’s Newsroom,” when anchor Chris Wallace stated that President Trump’s
“unprecedented” criticisms of the media bother him, in particular, the
president criticizing the press during his news conference with the presidents
of Baltic nations, I wasn’t surprised.
But I must admit I was surprised when Wallace finally admitted that
there does exist an obvious bias that is exhibited by those in the ‘mainstream’
media toward conservatives.
Wallace said, “Well look, I think there are two
things that are going on here, and I think they can both be true. I think that
the president has been engaged in — and I’ve said this before — in an
unprecedented attack on the media. As a member of the media, maybe not a member
of the mainstream media, but a member of the media, and I’ve been doing this
for almost half a century, it bothers me.”
Unprecedented? He doesn’t
remember Barry’s constant attacks on his own network?
Anyway, he went on to say, “I was particularly
distressed, I have to say, when the president held that joint news conference
with the three presidents of the Baltic nations, and — you know, it’s one thing
when we fight amongst ourselves, it’s a different thing when it’s on the
international stage — talked about the fake media. You know, I’ve never heard a
president bash the media when it’s on — when he’s dealing with foreign
leaders.” I could be wrong, but I think
Barry did as well.
He added, “On the other hand, do I think that there
is bias among members of the mainstream media? Absolutely. You can see it on the front pages of some
newspapers. You can see it on the lead on some of the newscasts that — or
so-called newscasts of some of our competitors. So, I think both of those things are true. And
I’m not sure that it’s especially healthy for the country.” What’s unhealthy is having a news media that
seems to have forgotten what its purpose is.
Wallace claims that President Trump's criticism of
the media is unprecedented BUT the media’s attacks on the president are even
more so. And those in the media have
also focused attacks on those who voted for Trump, on those few politicians who
defended the president in the media, and on conservative entertainers who
support President Trump. It’s the level
of hostility being directed at this president that should be considered as unprecedented,
and they deserve unprecedented criticism.
And the American people see what’s going on, and we
know that because we have an unprecedented level of distrust of Wallace’s
beloved media where 77 percent of the American people agree that the ‘mainstream’
media reports much that is nothing more than ‘fake news.’ What’s being ‘reported’ these days, even by
more than a few on Fox News’, especially if it relates to President Trump, is
little more than pure propaganda the purpose of which is to instill distrust of
our president.
The media has always been biased in favor of the
Democrat Party although over the last decade or so they’ve become much more
obvious about it. It would seem to be
that each new story about the president must be made to be more outrageous than
the last. The new purpose of those in the media is to openly protect a Democrat
Party that has become increasingly corrupt and further left, and to provide all
manner of necessary cover to ANY Democrat running for office, not matter what.
Wallace may be upset that his ‘profession’ is being
singled out, but it’s the vast majority of those in his profession, including
himself, that essentially brought that about.
Many in the media now have a vendetta, of sorts, against the president,
and they will never forgive President Trump for having successfully “gotten
under their skin” and exposing them for the frauds that they truly are. So the form of retaliation that they have
chosen is to say absolutely anything about him, true or not.
Let’s face it the final nail in the coffin of the ‘mainstream’
media was the election of Barry ‘O’.
They provided all manner of cover for him and kept his questionable past
firmly under wraps. Many even advocated
for his socialist agenda. When Trump was
elected president the media became ENRAGED and joined the Democrat Resist Movement. The media has lost the trust of a majority of
Americans and is now simply too dishonest to admit it, so instead, like
Wallace, they blame Trump.
And let’s be honest, though
a difficult task for those in the media, an attack on outright liars in the media,
and incompetents who rush a story without properly sourcing it, is NOT an
attack on the press. No one gave any one
individual or news outlet an exclusive monopoly on presenting news to the
nation. If they can't get it right, or
at least appear to be neutral in reporting, perhaps they should get into
another line of work. Many ARE reporting
‘fake news’ and they need to be called out.
