COMRADE MARTY O’MALLEY APPEARS TO BE THROWING HIS HAT IN THE RING…

It would seem that perhaps the current governor of the ‘People’s Republic of Maryland’, Comrade Marty O’Malley, may be observing some cracks developing in the armor of she who is already the presumed 2016 Democrat candidate for president, Hitlery Clinton. Because he’s most certainly beginning to sound much more like a potential candidate himself and seems quite willing to present himself as being an alternative.

For those that know him, Comrade O’Malley has never made a secret out of the fact that he has aspirations for higher office. And that became all the more obvious during his recent trip to Iowa, which is an early battleground state. He gave a speech that, I guess, was designed to both play up what he referred to as being his achievements and to inspire those at Iowa’s Democrat convention on Saturday. Marty rambled for 30 minutes.

Comrade Marty said, "When I was elected mayor in 1999, my city, Baltimore, had become the most violent, most addicted, most abandoned city in America," O'Malley said. And then he want on to claim that his administration picked up trash, shut drug markets, got addicts into recovery programs, and got people to mentor children and become police officers. That might all sound nice, but it’s a little less than an accurate assessment.

"And it did work. The people of Baltimore rallied," he said. "It was about something deeper — the belief that there is no such thing as a spare American." Governor since 2006, Marty noted that Maryland recently raised the state's minimum wage to $10.10 per hour and he claimed that job opportunities are supposedly growing, as is the state's median wage. Again, as Democrats tend to do, Marty’s version of events doesn’t jive with what actually occurred.

Now it goes without say that, despite and less than perfect book tour, Hitlery Clinton's potential candidacy is, of course, the top story in most Democrat circles, even though the former senator and secretary of State has yet to say whether or not she intends to run. If she does, she's would immediately become the Democrat frontrunner. But Marty has made the point to numerous sources that that doesn't mean other candidates need not apply.

"Anyone who thinks they have something to offer our country as a leader has the opportunity to do that," Marty said in an interview with a local paper. He went on to say, "Every candidate, every potential candidate, will go about it in a different way. Each of them needs to do what they feel is best to offer their best." Now while this guy may see himself as being a leader, I’m sure Barry saw himself in much the same way.

However, the list of reasons why this guy should NEVER be elected president is rather long and quite extensive. And while those on the left are sure to be thrilled at the thought that Marty might formally declare himself to be a candidate, those who are even the least bit interested in the survival of our country should avoid him like the plague. The list that follows will provide numerous reasons as to why this guy would be a disaster:

1. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics data MD has lost 7,000 jobs since January 2012.
2. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics data MD lost 36,200 jobs Since O’Malley took office.
3. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics data MD unemployment up from 3.6% to 7% since O’Malley took office.
4. Maryland was dead last in job creation in 2010.
5. Barry’s plan to raise taxes will cost Maryland 13,800 jobs and $4 billion in economic output
6. Comrade Marty raised taxes and fees 24 times since 2007.
7. According to non-partisan MD Dept. of Legislative Services, Marty raised taxes over $3.6 billion in his first term alone—not counting recent tax hikes on working families
8. Marty’s budgets have grown by 23% since he first took office. 2007-$28.8 billion, 2013-$35.5 billion
9. Marty fairs poorly among his fellow Democrat governors on business climate, tax climate and corruption.
10. Maryland FY 2011-2013 general spending increased 15%--highest in the region
11. Moody’s ranks Maryland in top 20 of debt to GDP ratio
12. As a percentage of state GDP, Maryland’s unfunded pension liability combined with other debt is 9.6% much higher than neighboring states.
13. Maryland’s pension system is only 64% funded.
14. Maryland is on Moody’s downgrade watch list.
15. Maryland schools ranked #1 by EdWeek but same report ranks Maryland dead last in Poverty Gap for 8th grade math, 22nd for high school graduation.
16. MD Higher Education Commission found that 61% of MD high school graduates in MD community colleges, who took college-prep track, needed remedial math and English instruction. Fifteen percent attending four-year colleges needed remedial math and English instruction. Cost to taxpayers: $90 million.
17. Maryland ranks 42nd in Tax Foundation's Business Tax Climate.
18. Maryland ranks 40th in CEO Magazine Best-Worst States for Business.
19. Maryland ranks 43rd in Mercatus Center Personal and Economic Freedom Index.
20. Maryland ranks 31st in CNBC Cost of Doing Business rankings.
21. Maryland ranks 40th in State Integrity Corruption Risk.
22. As Mayor of Baltimore, Comrade O’Malley instituted zero tolerance policy of mass arrests with out probable cause.
23. As Mayor of Baltimore, O’Malley likened George W. Bush policies to that of 9/11 attacks.

Now while this list is a rather impressive one, with them having elected Barry "Almighty" twice, I’m not all that sure whether it would be sufficient to make the case to the American electorate that the very last place this guy needs to end up, is the Oval Office. If in 2016, after what will have been the eight-year reign of Barry, if it has not become painfully obvious that socialism does not work here in America, then Marty may well be a shoe in.
