Make no mistake about it, my Second Amendment
supporting friends, Democrat presidential hopeful, Hitlery ‘The Hag’ Clinton
will be very determined in her efforts to come for your guns if we’re stupid
enough to elect her as our next president.
She makes that very apparent in a recently released, albeit highly
dishonest, gun control ad (seen above) in which she combines suicides with
firearm-related homicides and, as a result, elevates “gun violence” figures by
approximately 66 percent. But hey,
what’s one more lie when she’s already told so many already, and especially
when her intentions are so ‘honorable’.
While this tact is really nothing new for the old
girl, the fact that Hitlery is now making these bogus claims in ads that will
run over and over again suggests she is willing to benefit in any way she can from
highly inflated, inaccurate numbers, rather than correct the record. This most recent ad opens with Hitlery saying,
“This epidemic of gun violence knows no boundaries. Between 88 and 92 people a
day are killed by guns. We’re better than this.” Note the rather innocuous sounding phrase “killed
by guns,” which would seem to suggest, and quite purposely so, that lives are
taken by violence perpetrated against innocents.
She puts a figure on it, claiming “88 to 92″ lives
are taken each day by such violence. And she avails herself of the best gun
control talking points by describing “gun violence” at this level as an
“epidemic.” But here’s the problem with
her overarching message: it simply isn’t true.
In reality, actual firearm-related homicides each year hover between
approximately 8,500 and 11,000. And many
of these are the result of the kind of gang violence and street crime seen in
such utopian enclaves as Baltimore, Chicago, Houston, Milwaukee, New Orleans,
New York City, Philadelphia, and St. Louis, among other Democrat-controlled
cities.
For instance, in 2013, the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that there had been 11,208
firearm-related homicides in the United States. An additional 505 accidental firearm-related
deaths occurred in the US–a figure that pales in comparison to the 38,851
deaths by accidental poisoning or the 30,208 deaths caused by falls. So Hitlery and gun control proponents who
happen to think like her, increase these figures by adding in suicides. In this way, 11,713 firearm-related
deaths–homicides and accidental deaths–quickly become 32,888 “gun violence”
deaths in 2013 and an impetus for gun control.
But let’s face it, it’s this same ‘fuzzy math’ that
Democrats are rather fond of using regardless of the issue or policy they
happen to be talking about. They use this
creative approach when talking about everything from unemployment to our debt
problem. In other words, 11,713
gun-related deaths in 2013 represent about 32 deaths a day out of an American
population of 318 million people. That is not enough to give gun control the
traction it needs to get moving. But,
add in suicides and that brings the figure to 32,888–and Hitlery can lump all
deaths together and claim “88 to 92 people are killed” as a result of “gun
violence.”
It’s been previously reported that ‘Nanny Mike’
Bloomberg did the same thing back on April 16, 2014, in his effort to inflate
deaths by illegal guns. Back then he made
the claim that “31,000 Americans either get murdered or commit suicide with
illegal guns [each year].” This is a gross conflation of the facts and a
distortion along the same pattern that we now see coming from Hitlery.
Bloomberg was taking actual deaths by “gun violence”–which hover between 8,500
and 11,000 a year–and combining them with approximately 20,000 firearm-related
suicides. Voila, the need for gun
control!
But the reality can be easily seen by simply looking
at the facts. Those pesky little things that Democrats, like Hitlery, don’t
really like, and continually see as being nothing more than speed bumps
standing in the way of what they are working so hard to accomplish. But what the facts tell us is that in 2011,
the FBI reported a total of 8,583 murders with firearms while the CDC
statistics show a total of 19,766 suicides with a firearm. Taken together, those figures total 28,349,
only about 30 percent of which were the result of actual “gun violence.”
Lumping them together gave Bloomberg a 70 percent boost.
To be honest, I have never been able to understand
why it is that anyone would be so gullible as to believe anything that they are
ever told by any Democrat. Because
nothing Democrats ever say has any resemblance to the truth, no matter what it
is that they might be talking about. And
as their continuing attempts at gun control make very clear, they will say
absolutely anything if they think there is even the slightest chance that it
will increase the odds of they’re becoming successful. And as their desperation to achieve gun
control intensifies, the willingness on the part of Democrats to lie becomes
all the more outrageous!
