There now appears to be a whole slew of RINOs who seem very determined in their efforts to convince as many people as they can, that the only way the Republican Party has any hope of being able to survive as a viable political party is to separate itself entirely from Donald Trump. But I think what they’re really telling us is that it would make their lives just that much easier if ‘We the People’ would simply allow them to do their jobs in the same manner in which they have become accustomed. In short, to tell us whatever they wish when trying to get themselves elected, and then once elected to promptly forget whatever it was that they promised us.
Which brings me to Senator Bill Cassidy. You’ll
remember him as one of the ‘malignant seven’ RINOs who saw fit to join with the
Democrats in voting to impeach President Trump. It was this past Sunday, while
on CNN’s “State of the Union,” that he said if the Republican Party continued
to “idolize” former President Trump, they would lose elections. Cassidy said,
“We’ve got to win in two years. We’ve got to win in four years. If we do that,
we’ll do that by speaking to those issues important to the American people, and
there’s a lot of issues important to them right now, not by putting one person
on a pedestal and making that one person our focal point.”
Cassidy continued by saying, “If we speak to those
issues, to those families, to those individuals, we win. That’s where our focus
should be. CPAC is not the entirety of the Republican party. That’s number one.
Number two, political organizations and campaigns are about winning. Over the
last four years, we lost the House of Representatives, the Senate and the
presidency. That has not happened in a single four years under a president
since Herbert Hoover. If we plan to win in 2022 and 2024, we have to listen to
the voters. Not just those who really like President Trump, but also those who
perhaps are less sure.” Another RINO great at making excuses.
And he added, “If we do, if we speak to the voters
who are less sure who went from President Trump to President Biden, we win. If
we don’t, we lose. That is a reality that we have to confront. If you’re going
to win in 2022 and 2024, you’ve got to speak to voters who didn’t vote for us
last time. Now, our policies are great. Before the COVID crisis hit, we had
record employment for every group, Hispanics, African-Americans, women, the
disabled, high school dropouts, veterans, you name it. We had economic policies
that were working. So if that’s the case, and we can speak to those policies
and those families, then we’ll win.” If only we could trust them.
And he said, “But if we idolize one person, we will
lose. And that’s kind of clear from the last election.” Cassidy makes clear
just how clueless he is if he thinks that there is anyone who actually idolizes
Donald Trump. Speaking for myself, I do not, nor does anyone I know, idolize
Donald Trump. And in making such an accusation Cassidy demonstrates the fact
that he has no basic understanding of why it is that so many people voted for
Donald Trump in the first place. He, and those like him, would do far better,
and stand a much better chance of winning elections if they were to be more
like Donald Trump and in so doing keep at least some of the promises that they
make.
No one idolizes President Trump, we admire, and we respect,
what we see as being true leadership on those issues that are most important to
us. Because all we get from RINOs, like Cassidy, is, more often than not,
merely lip service. President Trump made good on the promises he made to us
regarding border security, energy independence, creating jobs for Americans and
putting ‘America First.’ These are the things we Conservatives have always favored,
and what we thought many of whom we voted for favored as well. Cassidy doesn’t
get it, and he never will. None of the RINOs get it, and they won’t if we allow
them to convince us to abandon Donald Trump.
If those like Cassidy had put as much time and effort
into working FOR the American people as they did in merely pretending to do so,
Donald Trump would not have come to wield the influence over the party that he
has, and he certainly would have never been elected president. Cassidy is the
perfect symbol of why the Republican Party has been such a failure. What’s he
doing on CNN, the very same ‘fake news’ network that has spent over four years
calling every single Republican a racist? Who is he trying to appeal to? Why
does he care so very little about the party base, so maliciously maligned by
this network and still highly supportive of Donald Trump?
Cassidy cites the support from minorities and
achievements for veterans and the economy as if they were Republican Party
triumphs. They were NOT, they were Donald Trump’s achievements. The Republicans
played only a minimal role, and in many cases were an active hindrance to the
Trump agenda. Yet now these RINOs think they can cast Trump aside, take credit
for his achievements, and dupe the Republican base into voting for the very
same people who have failed them so miserably for decades. The Republican Party
has zero credibility without Donald Trump. A Republican Party populated with
RINOs is not interested in the little people.
