For people who are supposed to be so smart, first we have those on the left, those who are so terrified of President Trump that they have set about manufacturing all manner of bogus criminal charges that have then been brought by bought and paid for political prosecutors all in an effort to primarily make it so that President Trump is made ineligible to run for president in 2024. And it’s also, with the help of corrupt judges, that those on the left hope to keep President Trump tied up in courtroom, and off the campaign trail at same time voters will be taking part in various state primary elections. But most folks are able to see the political motivation behind it all.
And then of course we have those who are running against
President Trump to become the Republican nominee in 2024. And it’s they who are
seeking to use those same bogus charges in an effort to make President Trump less
appealing to those who would vote for him. So instead of standing with
President Trump as he is made to face charges that each and every one of them
knows are nothing more than works of pure political fiction, it’s each and
every one of President Trump’s political opponents that have essentially joined
with those on the left by giving credence to those charges for no other reason
than because they feel those charges weaken President Trump.
But if a recent poll is in any way accurate, which I
admit is a pretty big ‘if’, it would seem that none of these charges has had
much of an impact on President Trump’s support. You see, it’s President Trump
who continues to hold a 37-point lead in the Republican primary race, that
according to the latest survey from The Economist/YouGov. It was this particular
survey that asked Republicans and Republican-leaners, “If the Republican
presidential primary in your state were held today, who would you vote for?” President
Trump leads the Republican primary field with a majority support, as 51 percent
of Republicans continue to back him.
Meanwhile, it’s Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis who comes
in 37 points behind with 14 percent support. It’s no other candidate that comes
even remotely close. Anti-woke businessman Vivek Ramaswamy comes in a distant
third with 5 percent support. Nikki Haley comes in fourth place with 4 percent
support, followed by former Vice President Mike Pence at 3 percent. And then it’s
loudmouth Chris Christie along with Tim Scott who both come in at 2 percent.
Everyone else listed on the survey, including Asa Hutchinson and Doug Burgum,
received zero percent support. So while everyone, on both sides, have pinned
their hopes on these charges, they just ain’t working.
Also, in this same poll, it was 11 percent who said
they are not sure, but how that’s possible I’m not sure, and 6 percent who said
they will not vote. The survey also asked Republicans and Republican-leaning
independents whom they would be disappointed to see become the Republican
nominee. It was 53 percent of respondents who said they would be disappointed
if Christie became the nominee, followed by 49 percent who said they would be
disappointed if it were Pence. It was also 19 percent who said they would be
disappointed if the nominee were President Trump, 17 percent said the same of
DeSantis and 15 percent said the same of Scott.
Finally, it was once my
hope that heading into 2024 those who might decide to run against him would
instead choose to unite behind President Trump. To form a united front against
those who seek nothing more than to destroy this country. That they would put
their egos aside and do what was best for the country. But nope, they just
couldn’t bring themselves to do it. Which says far more about them than it does
about President Trump. That Christie and Hutchinson are out there doing their
best to smear President Trump comes as no surprise, they both continue to demonstrate
how that they are both undeserving. They are nothing more than a couple of
gutless wonders.
