And the list of Hollywood morons determined in their effort to tell the rest of us how to live, continues to grow. And the most recent example is someone not even born in this country, but who came here later in life for fame and fortune. So having crawled out of that sludge filled sewer situated at the heart of that land of the fruits, the nuts and the flakes comes none other than Jim Carrey. Apparently it is Mr. Carrey's opinion that anyone who has bought an "assault rifle" since the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School retain little that is "worth protecting." I believe the exact quote was, "[Anyone] who would run out to buy an assault rifle after the Newtown massacre has very little left in their body or soul worth protecting." Personally, I think this little idiotic outburst of his says much more about him than it does about any of us who choose to own a gun. It very clearly reveals a level of ignorance that's really quite dangerous.
I think we're all aware that gun sales have soared since the tragedy in Newtown, Conn., and why it is that that most likely occurred. As well, data recently released by the FBI shows that a record number of background checks were performed for gun purchases in December, and it shows that there was an increase in 48 of the 50 states as well as in the District of Columbia in 2012. Come on Jim, you consider yourself a pretty bright guy, I'm sure, but why do you think? You think that it might have had something to do with the fact that Barry "Almighty" appointed some silly task force headed up by anti-gun nut, ‘Slow Joe’ Biden, or perhaps the fact that Barry has since signed into effect 23 executive orders supposedly to address the issue. Or, that Barry is now pushing for all manner of legislation, including a new "assault weapons" ban and a national federal database for gun owners. No, we're just being paranoid, right, Jim?
And in doing her best to oblige Barry's unconstitutional request,, we had Dianne Feinstein, another leftist loon from California, who has since sponsored an "assault weapons" ban that actually much more, since it also prohibits the sale of 157 weapons and limits the amount of ammunition-magazines to 10 rounds, though she acknowledged it is an "uphill fight." Feinstein's bill would ban AR-15s, one of the most popular rifles in America, and one of the weapons used in the Sandy Hook shooting. Prices for the rifle have surged since the shooting, with gun sellers
reporting a huge demand for the weapon and its ammunition. The AR-15 is a semiautomatic gun, firing one bullet with each pull of the trigger. The manufacture of certain fully-automatic guns has been banned since 1986. And another point worth mentioning, I think, is the fact that enforcement of gun laws currently on the books is down 40 percent under Barry. Why?
Carrey, 51, best known for his absolutely brilliant performances in such legendary films as
Dumb and Dumber and
Bruce Almighty, is not the first Hollywood nutjob to come out calling for more gun control, nor is he likely to be the last. After all, it was more than 50 Hollywood celebrities and self-described artists who appeared in an
ad for "Demand a Plan to End Gun Violence" that first appeared back in December. And yet, a good many of these holier-than-thou anti-gun zealots regularly appear in extremely violent movies that do nothing more than to glamorize guns as well as the taking of a life. So I don't quite understand how it is that any of these pathetic frauds would presume to have any level of credibility on the issue of guns. And I'll tell ya something else, I'd be willing to bet a week's pay that ALL of them, including this dolt Carrey, spend a goodly amount of their time surrounded by some pretty heavily armed bodyguards.
The bottom line here is that if Carrey doesn’t like the way we do things here in the good old U.S. of A. then why doesn't he just go back to, the land of wussies located north of the border, his native Canada. Guys like Carey really piss me off. Because if he was back in his homeland today he'd most likely be nothing more than some second rate comic making just enough money to pay his bills. But because he wanted more, he came to this country. He knew that if he worked hard he would have a much better chance of achieving some level of success. And as it turned out he would become a millionaire several times over. And now he has the nerve to slam those people who want to own guns, the same people, I might add who go to his silly movies and who have assisted him in becoming wealthy. How dare he be so disrespectful of the country that essentially allowed to become as successful as he could make himself!
So, I think it safe to say that I've now most likely seen my last Jim Carrey movie, and at the rate I seem to be going here about the only movies I'll be seeing anytime soon are those starring the likes of Clint Eastwood Robert Duvall and Bruce Willis. And when they're all gone I'm gonna be screwed. Carrey's right up there with other luminaries with names like Penn, Hanks, Foxx, Farrell and Paltrow to name just a few, and together they demonstrate the rather substantial lack of brain power that seems to infect our entertainment capital. And why is it that these folks think that I should not be allowed to protect myself and my family with anything more than the nearest broom? What makes these people so special that they should be permitted to protect themselves and yet see it as being perfectly acceptable to deny me that same right? It's is just another example of the "do as I say, not as I do" mentality of these people, these 'celebrities.'
