Now while I can’t be certain, I swore I detected a
note of desperation in Barry’s voice as he once again did his best to convince
anyone stupid enough to believe him, that if we continue to refuse to address
that which he and his many friends on the left have labelled as being the next
great apocalypse, it will soon be too late to do anything about it. Perhaps sensing that he may be a little under
the gun since he has but 16 months remaining office. Whatever the reason, he’s begun pulling out
all the stops.
In a speech in Anchorage, Alaska, on Monday Barry
once again warned that if nations do not act to stop ‘climate change’ "we
will condemn our children to a planet beyond their capacity to
repair." He went on to say,
"Climate change is no longer some far-off problem." And he claimed, "It is happening here.
It is happening now. Climate change is already disrupting our agriculture and
ecosystems, our water and food supplies, our energy, our infrastructure, human
health, human safety--now. Today."
In his effort to convince us of the error of our
ways, Barry went on to say, “If we were to abandon our course of action, if we
stop trying to build a clean-energy economy and reduce carbon pollution, if we
do nothing to keep the glaciers from melting faster, and oceans from rising
faster, and forests from burning faster, and storms from growing stronger, we
will condemn our children to a planet beyond their capacity to repair.” And
then he went on to portray his prediction of coming events.
Barry ‘the alarmist’ went on describe his nightmare
scenario that includes, “submerged countries, abandoned cities, fields no
longer capable of supporting crops, and indigenous peoples who can’t carry out
traditions that stretch back millennia."
Barry said. "Entire industries of people who can’t practice their
livelihoods. Desperate refugees seeking the sanctuary of nations not their own.
Political disruptions that could trigger multiple conflicts around the globe." I don’t think he missed anything.
And in making a claim for which there is NO science
to substantiate, Barry went so far as to predict that temperatures in Alaska
would rise six to 12 degrees by the end of the century. He said, “So if we do nothing, temperatures
in Alaska are projected to rise between six and 12 degrees by the end of the
century, triggering more melting, more fires, more thawing of the permafrost, a
negative feedback loop, a cycle--warming leading to more warming--that we do
not want to be a part of.”
And after doing his best to paint the worst possible
outcome, Barry then went on to claim that the issue of whether human activity
is changing the climate has now been settled.
He said, “So let me sum up. We know that human activity is changing the
climate. That is beyond dispute. Everything else is politics if people are
denying the facts of climate change. We can have a legitimate debate about how
we are going to address this problem; we cannot deny the science.” But it’s all political drivel.
And perhaps sensing he was on roll, Barry went on to
say, “We also know the devastating consequences if the current trend lines
continue. That is not deniable, and we are going to have to do some adaptation,
and we are going to have to help communities be resilient. Because of these
trend lines, we are not going to be able to stop on a dime. We’re not going to
be able to stop tomorrow.” There was
nothing that Barry said that does not have its basis in anything other than
politics.
Because all that any of this really amounts to is nothing
more than pure leftist, and politically motivated, anti-America propaganda. There is absolutely nothing about ‘climate
change’ that is settled. From whether it
is actually occurring, and if it is, what if anything may be causing it or if
there is anything that can be done that will have an effect on it. It seems that with each day we have another
bona fide climate scientist coming out and saying that all of the apocalyptic
claims are just wrong.
When it comes to the topic of ‘climate change’ it is
not we who have called every name in the book because we refuse to buy into the
hysteria that are denying the science.
Those denying the science of ‘climate change’ are the ones who insist
that is taking place and insist that we are able to do anything that will
somehow have an impact on it. But if
they were truly paying attention, they would see that science has yet to actually
determine if it is taking place and if man is capable of altering it.
