OBAMA, A GREAT PRESIDENT? I'M JUST NOT SEEIN IT...

What makes a man so determined to seek the office of President, and when victorious to then, through the use of every single tool at his disposal, and then some, to destroy not only the country that he now leads, but to undermine its standing in the world as well? To go well out of his way to state every manner of falsehood in an effort to diminish all that it has accomplished not only for itself, but for the world at large? To believe in his heart that it as has been, and throughout all of it’s history, nothing but a force for evil and not the force for freedom that every patriot recognizes it as having been? And then what makes someone enthusiastically defend those actions taken by such a despicable man and make the claim that such a character is, and should rightly be recognized as, a great president? Does that make any sense to anyone?

Which brings me to the point of this post. Which has to do with the fact that every time I think I’ve heard everything from Nancy Pelosi, damn if she doesn’t come up with something even more incredibly bizarre. Her most recent voyage into the realm of the mentally deranged involved her making a comment that ranks right up there with her claim that we would first have to pass Obamacare before we would know what was actually in it. So it was then that on this past Thursday she accused the Republicans of having an ulterior motive in they’re deciding to use the scandals now coming out of the White House. She claimed their sole purpose for doing so is to undermine Barry "Almighty" out of "fear," because he is "such a great president."

During a press conference on Capitol Hill Pelosi insisted that, "They make so much of these issues, because this president is such a great president." This has been a week filled with all manner of new revelations concerning the growing number of scandals, ranging from the terrorist attack in Benghazi, to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and its targeting of conservative groups, as well as the Justice Department seizing phone records of reporters at the Associated Press. Another potential scandal that has yet to bubble completely to the surface involves the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and its being accused of routinely hindering conservative groups by enforcing fees normally waived for media and watchdog groups.

But as is always the case, Pelosi was determined in her efforts to portray as being purely insignificant all of the blatant corruption currently on display. Pelosi said of Barry, "He’s a visionary—you’ve heard me say this so many times." This imbecile then went on to say, "This is a great president. He’s a visionary. He has a knowledge of our country, concerns of the American people that give him judgment as to what plan we should have to go forward to strengthen the middle class." And far from being finished she said, "And he has an eloquence to convey that message." And then said, "They fear that, and so any issue that comes up, they will try to exploit." Have you ever heard anything more delusional in your entire life?

Pelosi half-heartedly acknowledged that while some of the scandals may be "legitimate issues," she said that they should not be the primary focus of Congress. "And some of them are legitimate issues, but they should not dominate everything," she said. "And so what I think is that they have used talking points on Benghazi. They will use the IRS. They will use the AP. They will use these as, again, subterfuges, evasions of what the American people want us to do here." Imagine, if you will, just for a moment, that George W. Bush was now our president and he was now embroiled in just one of these three, maybe four, ongoing scandals. Do you think that old Nancy would be of the same opinion? Call me silly, but I just don’t think so.

But as bizarre as that statement was Pelosi was far from being through. This pathetic political hack then went on to make her idiotic claim that Republicans are focused on investigating the controversies in order to distract away from jobs. Pelosi said, "They want us to create jobs," she said. "Now if you’re a party in Congress, and you have no intention of creating jobs, you want to change the subject." She said, "So I think this is as much about enforcing their anti-government ideology, of not a public role in the creation of jobs, as well as undermining the president of the United States." I find it insulting to have a leader in the Democrat Party who has done more in the last four years not only to kill jobs but to inhibit job creation than anyone thought imaginable, accusing the opposition party of perpetrating her own deeds.

Just one last little comment here, and then I'll go. My wife posed an interesting question to me this morning on the way to work. She asked me if a majority of the American people can still sit idly by and watch as this blatantly dishonest and obviously corrupt individual continues to do what he does, what is it that I can hope to do, except to drive up my blood pressure? If there's no outrage, no marching in the streets, no crowds demanding impeachment, no calls for him to explain all that he has done to tear down our country and no apologies demanded for all of the lies that he has told, then, she explained, there is likely to be nothing I can do. And yet, as much as I know that she is most likely right in her assessment, I have to, I must, soldier on. Even though there are many others who are much better than I at sounding the alarm, I still must try.
