THE CRIMES OF WATERGATE PALE IN COMPARISON TO THOSE COMMITTED IN BENGHAZI-GATE, AND YET...
First let me start by saying that there is absolutely nothing on this earth that would give me greater pleasure than to watch Barry "Almighty" go up in flames over this entire Benghazi fiasco. But, having said that, I simply don't see it happening. Frankly, I think we, as a country, we have managed to get to a place where, sadly, a majority of the American people no longer want to be bothered with the fact that this administration stood by and did absolutely nothing while four of their fellow citizens were literally butchered at the hands of a terrorist gang of murdering Muslim fanatics. Individuals who should now be tracked down like the scum that they are and simply shot on sight!
Among those who seem to be of the opinion that the mushrooming Benghazi scandal could, at least potentially, lead to the complete unraveling of Barry "Almighty's" administration, is John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Now while I have great respect for Mr. Bolton on all matters having to do with foreign policy, I fear that, at least in this particular instance, he may be nothing more than a victim of his own wishful thinking. I wish I could agree with him when in a recent interview that he said, "This could be a hinge point for the Obama administration. It's that serious for them.'' But Barry remains well shielded by our state-controlled media complex.
Bolton made his remarks as Congress prepares on Wednesday to interview at least three witnesses about the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya. One witness, Greg Hicks, was the embassy's No. 2 official, has said everybody knew the bloodbath, which ended in the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, was a terrorist attack. This despite the White House initially claiming it was an impromptu protest against a blasphemous YouTube video. Mr. Hicks has also said the administration lied in its claim that it was in close contact with diplomatic officials in there Libya during the attack.
"The three witnesses who have been identified are not bystanders," said Bolton, now a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. He added, "These are not people who are going to report on hearsay of what somebody in Tripoli told somebody that they heard from." Bolton went on to say, "These are people who were directly involved in different capacities before, during, and after the attack. And what we’ve seen leaked already from interviews the committee staff has done is devastating." Also, I think it safe to say, that none of these witnesses can be said to be part of some vast right wing conspiracy. But that's unlikely to prevent such accusations from flying.
Bolton said then-Secretary of State Hitlery Clinton "escaped any accountability or responsibility during her hearings on Benghazi right before she stepped down." But with new witnesses stepping forward, hinting at a cover-up, the fingers could once again point at her and others, he said. "You've already seen some Democratic members of Congress are beginning to run from this, as they say in the South, like scalded dogs because they can see this unraveling," Bolton said. He said it is important for Capitol Hill to get the bottom of who knew what at what point in the Benghazi attack and assign accountability. But that could prove to be a very difficult task.
"When you can kill an American ambassador and three of his brave colleagues and, for eight months, escape with complete impunity, that sends a huge message," he said. "So this is very important to get to the bottom of this. It's not ancient history, as the White House and Secretary Clinton tried to say. "We've got people at risk right now in the Middle East. We need to know what happened so we can prevent it from happening again." But that task will be made all the more difficult as long as those who posses actual personal knowledge of the events as they unfolded are willing to lie in their effort to provide cover for a very corrupt president.
Sources close to the congressional investigation and who have been briefed on what it is that Thompson will say, have told Fox News the veteran counterterrorism official concluded on Sept. 11 that both Hitlery Clinton and Under Secretary for Management Patrick Kennedy tried to cut the counterterrorism bureau out of the loop as they and other Barry "Almighty" administration officials weighed both how to respond to and to best characterize, the Benghazi attacks. White House Spokesmoron, Jay Carney, emphatically denied that claim on Monday. Sounding rather indignant, he made the claim that there is no basis, whatsoever, to even assume such a thing took place.
Daniel Benjamin, who ran the department's Counterterrorism Bureau at the time, also put out a statement Monday morning strongly denying the charges. "I ran the bureau then, and I can say now with certainty, as the former Coordinator for Counterterrorism, that this charge is simply untrue," he said. "Though I was out of the country on official travel at the time of the attack, I was in frequent contact with the Department. At no time did I feel that the Bureau was in any way being left out of deliberations that it should have been part of." Tell me again why we should believe this guy more than we should the three witnesses about to testify.
Benjamin went on to call his bureau a "central participant in the interagency discussion about the longer-term response to Benghazi." He said "at no time was the Bureau sidelined or otherwise kept from carrying out its tasks." And then we had another clown from the State Department doing his best to circle the wagons, spokesman Patrick Ventrell who also said Monday that the new hearings appear to be political in nature. Separately, a senior State Department official told Fox News that Hicks and Thompson both have "axes to grind." Like I said before, these three witness are career government employees, they are not someone who can simply be labeled as being right wing nuts.
So, when all is said and done will Barry and Hitlery actually be held accountable for behavior that reflected what was very clearly nothing short of gross negligence on their part. Or, will it all, and very neatly so, simply be swept under the rug? Well I suppose that remains to be seen and much, I think, will depend on whether or not the American people will demand to hear the truth. Because if they don't then I doubt very much whether we'll see the requisite desire coming from members of Congress to get to the bottom of this atrocity. Sadly, I must admit, I don't have much faith in the American people, these days, at least when it comes to their willingness to do the right thing.
