SO NOW WHAT LIES AHEAD???

So here we are on what could very well be, if we are lucky, the verge of what can hopefully be considered as being the next step in our journey to take our country back. Let’s hope that we are able to make it farther along than we were able to after taking that first step back in 2010. And of course if we are able to achieve significant forward movement, then the final step in the process of rescuing our country will be the presidential election in 2016.

But at this particular moment in time there is a great amount of uncertainty in what lies ahead. While it is very welcome news that the Republicans were able to gain complete control of Congress last night, we the people would be nothing but foolhardy if we were to simply allow these same folks to go to Washington without being closely unsupervised. They must be made aware of the fact that our trust cannot be assumed, it must be earned.

Now while it would be nice if we could simply assume that all of these folks could be allowed to run on autopilot, as it were, but to do so would be quite naïve. While I mean no disrespect to our newly elected, and re-elected, leaders, these people will bear watching to make certain that when they finally do arrive there in Washington they are there to conduct only the people’s business, and that promises that were made turn into promises that are kept.

The Republicans have been presented with what is nothing short of a golden opportunity. The voters have shown that they are willing to take a risk on the Republicans. And now we must hope that those who we have elected, and re-elected, will be up to the challenge that lies ahead. And those who have now been entrusted with the task of getting this country back on an even keel must also realize that no second chance will be forthcoming.

And one word of warning involves the lame duck session that now lies in wait because it just might prove itself to be little more than the equivalent of a political minefield. Because we do not know just how much destruction the Democrats will attempt to inflict as many of them now are made to head toward the door. And since our re-enforcements will not yet have arrived, will our current forces possess sufficient courage to fend off any potential Democrat assault?
