As has pretty much been the case since day one of this fiasco, still referred to by most of us as Obamacare, the entire Democrat plan as been one where they have, unable to dazzle us with their brilliance, attempted to baffle us with what has been nothing more than a never-ending stream of pure bullshit. And that tactic has only intensified since the rather dismal rollout of this thing back on 1 Oct. And one of the more recent examples of this came from none other than ‘Baghdad Jim’ McDerrmott. But then I suppose we shouldn’t be all that surprised considering the fact that he does, after all, come from what is one of those bastions of loony liberalism.
Anyway, Old ‘Baghdad Jim’ McDermott recently said that when it comes to ObamaCare, "the problems aren’t over today. I can see lots of things down the road." No shit, really? Is this guy a genius or what? But I can’t help but wonder what it was that might have given him his first clue. Now I know Nancy "Too Much Botox" Pelosi told us all that we would have to pass it in order to find out what was in it, but maybe, just maybe, if just a little time had been spent actually reading it, at least on the part of the Democrats, we could have easily avoided a whole host of problems. Just sayin. But they couldn’t be bothered, they didn’t ‘want’ to know what was in it.
‘Baghdad Jim’ added to some of his other more recent, and just as idiotic, comments on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal program on Dec. 4th while ‘discussing’ the goal of signing up 7 Million people for insurance under Obamacare by the end of March. "Does it function though - the law itself -if you don’t reach that 7 million mark?" the host asked. Old Jimbo responded by saying, "If it doesn’t reach the 7 million mark, we’re going to have to have some talking with ourselves about how we finance it," McDermott replied. Gee, ya think? Now is that not the understatement of the new millennium? Hey, we can just print more money, right Jimbo?
"Because the insurance companies are counting on that also – and since the president made the decision to bring the insurance companies in and they wrote these policies with an eye to the fact that a certain number of people were going to come in - some healthy, some sick – and that’s how they set the premiums." Jimbo went on to say, "There are going to be in problems if we don’t get the 7 million. That’s why I say the problems aren’t over today. I can see lots of things down the road, but there’s no use talking about them now. What we've got to do right now is focus on making it work." And just how in the Hell are we gonna do that?
It was the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) that estimated the Obamacare system would need to enroll 7 Million people to remain "revenue neutral" and avoid putting more money into the system to compensate the insurance industry for financial losses. "Revenue neutral", don’t you just love that little phrase. And who among us actually thought that 7 Million people would be willing to climb aboard this little crazy train, even before the disastrous 1 Oct rollout of this liberal boondoggle? But now that people are finding out what it’s going to be costing them, that’s even less likely to happen. What a mess! And it’s gonna get worse before it gets better.
