SHEILA JACKSON-LEE, POSTER CHILD FOR THE MENTALLY DERANGED…

I think most of us can agree, after living the lives that we have, that there are, in this world, morons and then there are MORONS. And then are still those who, because of some twist of fate, and even though they possess less brains than your average ice cube, are able to attain for themselves a position of some power. It is these folks who more often than not prove themselves to be quite dangerous, because is this last category that seems to include a vast majority of our politicians.

And it is Sheila Jackson-Lee, a proud Democrat who hails from the great state of Texas, who, without a doubt, can be considered as being a prime example of those who inhabit this last category. And she goes about proving that fact on what is a daily basis. Her most recent example came just this past week when she saw fit to actually call for unemployment benefits to be distributed to "working men and women." She made this nutty suggestion as part of a speech delivered from the floor of the House.

In sounding more like an escapee from any one of our fine institutions for the mentally challenged the a member of Congress, she was heard to say, "Let us vote to provide for unemployment insurance for working men and women so that faces across America will not have the tear of desperation on their face," adding, "we cannot allow this to happen this season of joy and giving." What? This makes about as much sense as a minimum wage of $15 per hour, another thing supported by this loon.

Strangely enough Ms. Lee has managed to convince those in her district to send her back to Congress every 2 years since 1995. Which may say more about them that it does her. Anyway, how she chose to justify her nutty suggestion was by noting that TIME magazine had named Pope Francis as its man of the year. She said, "So we can’t be only about our self in this holiday season, particularly as we recognize that the Pope being made man of the year has spoken to the world eloquently about the whole issue of the vulnerable.

But for her to make such a demand would seem to suggest one of two things: either she refuses to take serious the current fiscal situation in which we now find ourselves, which her party has played a major role in creating or, she is well aware of our dire financial straits and is somehow seeking out new ways to make things even worse. Now being that I’m jut naturally suspicious of Democrats, as well as their motives, I would tend to believe that, rather than out of some supposed concern for others, she only wants to make worse our already out of control spending problem.
