AND YET ANOTHER SILLY AWARDS SHOW COMES AND GOES…

With the appearance of ‘BJ’ Clinton at this year’s Golden Globes, it has once again been made crystal clear just how phony all of these ridiculous award shows really are. This time around we had that leftist nut, Steven Spielberg, actually go so far as to arrange for the appearance of 'Slick Willie' to hawk his movie," Lincoln," at last night’s silly awards show. Supposedly, the appearance of the ex-president to introduce Stevie's work of pure fiction about Abraham Lincoln was the equivalent of state secret. "We had this on lockdown," said DreamWorks co-chair/CEO Stacey Snider, one of the people who helped organize ‘BJ’s’ appearance. Only about a handful of people at the Globes knew der 'Slickmeister' was coming. In fact, to keep things under wraps, Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) members who did know about the ‘surprise’ were actually told to lie. They were actually told to make stuff up and if asked to say that the special presenter was Prince Albert of Monaco. Really?

Some of those who comprise the supposed HFPA hierarchy heard there would be a special guest during the first hour but didn’t know who it was. Certainly Golden Globes attendees dropping off their cars before the ceremony must have noticed that security was a little tighter than usual with assault rifles visible on authorities. After all, whenever you have a serial rapist in the building, such precautions become necessary. And oddly enough, but something that shouldn't surprise anyone considering of the caliber of folks present there in the audience, it was 'Slick Willie' who received the first standing ovation of the night when he came onstage. Stacey Snider, besides being one to assisted in getting 'Slick' to show up, was also one of those in attendance who said that "her heart was pounding" during his intro of a clip. "BJ" called Lincoln a "brilliant film" in his remarks, and he also 'joked' about some of the harsh realities of politics that Lincoln reveals in the Civil War era President’s desire to see slavery outlawed.

"Winning it required the President to make a lot of unsavory deals that had nothing to do with the big issue — I wouldn’t know anything about that," old 'Slick' said to big laughs. Which again, should come as no surprise. I mean let's face it, what we had here, last night, was essentially a room filled with all manner of bizarre characters who together, I think it fair to say, probably account for a very significant percentage of all the perverts, drug addicts and psychos that we have in the entire country. And the combined IQ of this odd assortment of fruits, nuts and flakes, I’m quite sure, rests quite comfortably somewhere in single digits. Which would help to explain the rather exuberant response that was brought about by the appearance of der 'Slickmeister.' Let's face it, before our present occupier of the White House came along, old 'Slick Willie' was easily considered to be the most dishonest politician to have ever crossed the threshold of the Oval Office. I am curious, though, about how much it was that der 'Slickmeister' charged for showing up and for plugging the film.
