MORE ‘CLIMATE CHANGE’ PROPAGANDA…
Another bit of leftist propaganda seems to have now emerged from Barry & Co. regarding the perils which we will all come to face from what is that nonexistent threat of "global warming/climate change". According to the boys over at the White House, who just today as a matter of fact, released what they call an updated report on the topic, climate change now requires what they call urgent action if we wish to counter impacts that touch every corner of the country. They claim that the threat is very real and poses a danger from oyster growers in Washington State to maple syrup producers in Vermont. Sounding more like ‘Chicken Little’ than ever before that say, "Climate change, once considered an issue for a distant future, has moved firmly into the present." Not so!
Now of course there were more than a few on the environmentalist wacko fringe, groups found predominantly on the left, who of course hailed the National Climate Assessment as a possible "game changer" for its effort to address climate change, in part because it makes the impact less abstract to many Americans. Lyndsay Moseley, director of something called the American Lung Association's Healthy Air campaign said, "It will help put their own experiences in context, and we think that is important in generating interest and action on the issue." What must it be like to be simple-minded enough to allow yourself to be convinced of such nonsense and by the same charlatans who were warning us in the 70’s to start preparing for a coming ice age? Just sayin’!
Supposedly, this report, which has been described by its supporters as being rather extensive, detailed how consequences of climate change are hitting on several fronts, including health, infrastructure, water supply, agriculture and especially in more frequent severe weather such as floods and droughts. And in what I can only guess was an attempt to make it sound all the more convincing to the little people, the supposed impacts are also broken down by region - from storm surges in the Northeast to wildfires and water shortages in the southwestern United States. A great amount of effort must have been expended in trying to make sure that somehow every section of the country could be made to at least appear to face some form of weather-induced cataclysm.
John Podesta, devoted leftist and therefore one of the primary advisers to Barry "Almighty", spread the bullshit on pretty heavy when he said on Monday that the report includes "a huge amount of practical, usable knowledge that state and local decision-makers can take advantage of as they plan on or for the impacts of climate change and work to make their communities more resilient." Podesta said the administration hopes that conveying the warnings contained in the report can help the administration implement the president's Climate Action Plan, which was unveiled in June 2013 and focuses on executive actions Barry can use to rein in polluters. Let’s be honest, there is very little in this report that would be of any real use to state or local decision-makers.
And it was Vicki Arroyo, some executive director of the Georgetown Climate Center of Georgetown University who made the point that the focus on solutions, not just warnings, is key. She said, "You really can't just provide a report that paints this dark picture of all these impacts. You have to couple it with a message of what our government can do about it, what you can do about it and what our communities can do." Let’s face it, if there really was an issue with our climate, there is very little, if anything, that our government could do about. After all, they can’t even put a website together, remember? Or have we all forgotten that already? Can we really trust that such a government could do anything about something as complex as our climate?
One of the biggest lies put forward in this cockamamie report is the one that makes the claim that the past decade was the country's warmest on record, and that some extreme weather events have increased in recent years. But the truth is that there has not been any sort of an increase in temperature for the last 15 years. And we’re also now at a 60 year low for tornado activity as well as a low for hurricane activity in the Atlantic. So their claims are nothing but bogus scare tactics. But they don’t stop with claims of severe weather, they also sound the alarm regarding other supposed impacts of climate change, such as an increase in the risk of disease transmission, decrease air quality and can increase mental health problems, among the many other effects.
And then of course, as is usually the case, for good measure they throw in the all the sophomoric nonsense about ongoing sea-level rise, which, as the claim goes, increases the risk of erosion and storm surge damage and raises the stakes for the nearly 5 million Americans who live within four feet of the local high-tide level. Look, if we are actually going to be stupid enough to fall for any of this idiotic drivel, then we will deserve whatever it is that we get in return for doing so. Over the course of the last 5 years the government has been allowed to worm ever farther into the private lives of the American people. Barry’s primary objective here is to engineer the creation of a mechanism that permits the government to very strictly control to what degree we are able to take advantage of our own energy resources.
