OBAMA SEEMS A BIT LOST ON THE FINE ART OF NEGOTIATION…

Ya know, Barry "Almighty" seems to be more than just a little confused on how this whole negotiation thing is supposed to work. And yes I know that Barry likes to play this game of politics by his rules, and his alone. So no one should have been the least bit surprised when, on Monday, Barry turned what was nothing more than a manufactured photo opportunity, into an opportunity to blast House Republicans for what he called a "manufactured crisis." How ironic, we have here the king of the manufactured crisis, accusing the Republicans of doing that which no one does better than Barry himself. Weird, don’t you think? Anyway, Barry once again demanded that the Republicans fund the government and raise the debt limit with no strings attached and without any negotiating taking place.

"Pass a budget, end the government shutdown, pay our bills and prevent an economic shutdown," Barry demanded of the Republicans. "And as soon as that happens, I am eager and ready to sit down and negotiate with Republicans on a whole range of issues." Now look, I know I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I always thought that the entire concept of negotiation required that it come BEFORE the deal, not after. I mean otherwise, doesn’t that kind of defeat the whole purpose of negotiating? And yes, I fully realize the fact that Barry thinks he’s a whole lot smarter than the rest of us, but I think this is going just a bit too far. But be that as it may, this time around Barry’s venue of choice for unloading on the Republicans was the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

We’re told that Barry was supposedly there to get some briefing on "what happened with Hurricane Karen, became Tropical Storm Karen and then fortunately dissipated, so we dodged a bullet there." He said the government shutdown has made it more difficult for them to respond to events that never even happened: "So Craig (Fugate) was just explaining to me here at FEMA, about 86 percent of the FEMA workforce is furloughed. In response to the potential event that might have happened down in Florida and along the coasts, Craig called back 200 of those workers. Keep in mind calling them back doesn't mean they were getting paid; it just means they had the privilege of working without pay to make sure that they were doing everything they can to respond to the potential needs of their fellow citizens." Blah, blah, blah.

That, I guess, then led Barry into what I suppose was to be his main point here in this obviously staged little event. Because he then went on to say, "Right now, Congress should do what's in the best interests of the economy and the American people, and that's move beyond this manufactured crisis and work together to focus on growth, jobs and providing the vital services that Americans all across the country depend on, including the services that FEMA provides." As far as I’m concerned, and I’m surprised that I’m even saying this, I think that’s exactly what I see currently being undertaken by Speaker Boehner. He is actually trying to do that which is in the best interests of our economy and to prevent, or to delay, that which will have some pretty dire economic consequences for the American people.

Look, the House Republicans have passed a number of smaller bills, 26 at last count, the purpose of which is to fund various vital services, but the Democrats have done little else but to denounce the effort as inadequate. Barry also took the opportunity to defend himself against criticism that he won't even talk to Republicans. And in what was really nothing more than another demonstration of his ability to lie through his teeth, he said, "I heard a lot of talk over the weekend that the real problem is, is that the president will not negotiate. Well, let me tell you something. I have said from the start of the year that I'm happy to talk to Republicans about anything related to the budget. There is not a subject that I am not willing to engage in, work on, negotiate and come up with common-sense compromises on." OH REALLY?

And he went on, "What I've said is that I cannot do that under the threat that if Republicans don't get a hundred percent of their way, they're going to either shut down the government or they are going to default on America's debt so that America for the first time of history does not pay its bills. That is not something I will do. We're not going to establish that pattern. We're not going to negotiate under the threat of further harm to our economy and middle-class families. We're not going to negotiate under the threat of a prolonged shutdown until Republicans get a hundred percent of what they want. We're not going to negotiate under the threat of economic catastrophe that economists and CEOs increasingly warn would result if Congress chose to default on America's obligations." Just so much bullshit!

Barry insisted that there are enough Republican and Democratic votes in the House to end the shutdown immediately -- "with no partisan strings attached." Barry said, "If Republicans and Speaker Boehner are saying there are not enough votes, then they should prove it. Let the bill go to the floor, and let's see what happens. Just vote. Let every member of Congress vote their conscience, and they can determine whether or not they want to shut the government down." Ok, then why is it only in the House that we must have a straight up or down vote? Why are we prevented from doing the same thing over in the Senate when it comes to anything related to Obamacare? Might Barry not be quite so confident when it comes to holding his Democrats together in a vote that would delay it or even defund it?

And while he was at it, Barry also pretty much demanded that Republicans raise the debt limit -- and end the sequester. "Pass a budget, end the government shutdown, pay our bills and prevent an economic shutdown," he told Republicans. "And as soon as that happens, I am eager and ready to sit down and negotiate with Republicans on a whole range of issues." Now if I remember correctly, this entire sequester thing was actually HIS idea. It was probably the only good one he’s had since coming into office. So if I were him, I might be tempted to leave that one alone. After all, it really wasn’t all that much money, in the big scheme of things. But hey, that’s just me. But even though it wasn’t really all that much money, to the Democrats it’s still something that we can’t afford to cut. It must be spent!

Finally, have you ever noticed, and I’m sure that you have, how it is that whenever the Republicans finally work up the nerve to play a little political hardball, in the same manner that Democrats always do, they’re always accused of, somehow, playing dirty, or of being against the little guy? And even though it’s the Democrats who have done far more to hurt that very same little guy, because their motives are always seen as being so pure, their behavior is seen as being nothing more than the nasty, but necessary, business of politics. I suppose that it’s just another example of what we can all chalk up to as being that same old double standard than always comes into play. But this time around, we cannot allow ourselves to be bullied into backing down. Not this time, the stakes are just way too high.

‘DINGY HARRY’ REID SAYS, “HEY, IT’S NOT OUR FAULT.”

It would seem that sufficient evidence now exists that would seem to indicate that ‘Dingy Harry’ Reid has slipped into the beginning stages of dementia. His recent claim that the Democrats are in no way to blame for the government shutdown, should be seen as sufficient reason enough to call his sanity into question. He recently even went so far as to tell one reporter, "search the news accounts today and find anything that suggests that Democrats had anything to do with this shutdown." Now knowing our state-controlled media as I think we all do, the sad thing here is that ‘Dingy’ is probably pretty close to being right? It is, after all, the same state-controlled media that has long operated as the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party.

It was while at a press conference on this past Friday that ‘Dingy Harry’ was asked, "You have made this very clear that you cast this as a Republican shutdown. Are you concerned as this wears on, that at some point people start to blame Democrats, too?" To which old ‘Dingy Harry’ responded, "Well I tell you what, you search the papers with me today, you search the news accounts today and find anything that suggests that Democrats had anything to do with this shutdown." Now personally, if I were a member of the ‘mainstream’ media, I might now be asking ‘Dingy’ to perhaps come up with a different strategy, one that wouldn’t necessarily bring any additional scrutiny to those whom most Americans already don’t seem to trust all that much.

According to a Gallup poll released just last Friday it would appear that both Republican and Democratic congressional leaders are now being viewed negatively as a result of our partial government shutdown. And even Barry "Almighty" is now seen as taking a hit as well, at least according to Gallup. "A majority of Americans, 57%, say they now view President Obama more negatively as a result of the shutdown," the pollster said. How can he not be taking a hit? After all, who is it that has been standing on the sidelines, declaring, and very loudly I might add, that he WILL NOT negotiate? Since when is that an example of presidential leadership? Barry doesn’t get to make all manner of demand, and then expect us all to simply fall in line.

The fight over the shutdown is causing splits within the two political parties as well. A growing number of House Democrats have now broken with their party leadership over the past two weeks to vote with House Republicans in approving funding for at least some parts of the federal government that do not involve implementing Obamacare. As has already been reported, the number of Democrats voting for funding bills put up by the House leadership that were then blocked by the Democrat-controlled Senate has grown from 2, who voted for a measure to fund the entire government except Obamacare, to as many as 36 who voted to pay members of the National Guard when on inactive-duty training.

However, because the Democratic leadership in the Senate has stubbornly refused to support these measures, they have not been passed and sent on to Barry "Almighty" to see if he would actually veto them to maintain his leverage in trying to force the House to fund Obamacare. And there have also been various press reports that have indicated that at least 17 House Republicans have released statements saying that they would actually support passing a clean continuing resolution on to the Senate, even on that would include funding for Obamacare, in order to end the shutdown. And every one of these 17 Republican turncoats should now be firmly atop everyone’s list and marked very clearly as individuals in need of being defeated come 2014.

If the House, which is controlled by the Republicans, has been passing different pieces of legislation designed to fund various parts of the government, 26 at last count, and the Senate, which is controlled by the Democrats, has passed absolutely nothing, it should become pretty obvious, pretty quickly, who the primary speed bump is in this continuing resolution process, as well as being the main culprit in the shutdown of the government. Look, folks, this ain’t rocket science. The bottom line here is, we simply can no longer afford to go on spending the way we have been. It’s just a fiscal impossibility. Someone is going to have to play the role of the adult here, and that obviously is not going to be ‘Dingy Harry’ or Barry "Almighty."

THE UPSIDE TO THE GOVERNMENT BEING SHUTDOWN…

Personally, I continue to be not the least bit bothered by Barry’s having decided to keep the government shutdown firmly in place. After all, how much of a government shutdown is it really, when we have only about 17 percent of the government that’s actually "shut down?" And for anyone out there who might actually be fretting over the whole thing, they really need do no more than to consider the fact that with this shutdown of the government comes a slowdown of putting in place of a whole host of Barry’s new and improved rules and regulations. That must be seen as a positive.

So for anyone who might be in search of that ever-elusive silver lining regarding our current government shutdown, The Hill has reported that the number of new federal regulations being pumped out on a daily basis, has now almost ground to a halt, with only the most ‘vital’ rules still being written. Ok, so I’m a little confuse here, I’d like to know what, exactly, constitutes a "vital regulation." Anyway, the fact that the regulation mill has at least been slowed is just fine with most conservatives and business groups. And that would be with yours truly very enthusiastically included!

Now of course, those who are responsible for the creation of ever more stronger and intrusive regulations will warn us that any delays in all of this idiotic rulemaking will surely jeopardize public safety and health. But how can that be when there are already very few, if any, aspects of our lives that aren’t already over-regulated by the government? I’ll take my little reprieve from the red tape, even if it doesn’t last long. I’m kinda glad that all the regulatory activities have fallen by the wayside. And the longer it goes on, the better off most of us are likely to be because of it.

Of course those ardent defenders of all those regulations will claim that nothing less than the wellbeing of the American people is at stake, if lawmakers are unable to end the budget impasse. "Regulations are vital for everything from protecting the environment, to maintaining public health, to ensuring workplace safety," Rep. Rosa DeLauro, a Democrat, said. "Anything that slows down the rulemaking process … is bad for American workers, consumers and families." Now while that may be how most Democrats see things, I’m just not thinking that that’s how most intelligent people view things.

The effects can already be seen in the Federal Register, where new regulations and draft rules are published daily. Monday’s edition of the Federal Register, the last one published before the shutdown, clocked in at more than 400 pages and contained 40 rules or proposals for the public to look over, covering everything from fees charged by U.S. Marshals to protecting the habitat for sea turtles. Oh ya, there’s some pretty "vital regulations" that we just couldn’t have been able to do without. Meanwhile, Friday’s edition was down to less than a third that size, and had just six rules

Republicans, of course, were more than happy to hear that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had cut back on its regulatory work. "I’m no fan of the EPA at all. So they certainly can’t perform any of their mischief if 93 percent of them are furloughed," Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, told The Hill. Hell, we even had a scum-sucking Democrat in the person of former Sen. Blanche Lincoln, who admitted that business groups are happy with the cutback in regulations, however temporary. "If they think potentially it means a week without regulations, they’re thinking, ‘Great, I have a week to catch up," she said.

But, sounding like the Democrat that she is, Lincoln, now with the National Federation of Independent Business said that no one who is serious wants to see all government regulations abolished. Maybe that goes for the majority of her fellow scum-sucking Democrats, but I’d be willing to wager that a substantial number of those in the small business community wouldn’t be too disappointed to see that happen. I think most rational people agree that our government has become far too intrusive, far too nosey and far too controlling. ‘We the People’ need to reassert ourselves.

Most of the headlines having to do with the shutdown make it very apparent that Barry is out to do his level best in making it, at least appear to be, as painful as possible. Such as barring WWII veterans, who we are rapidly losing more of each and every day, from viewing their memorial. Barry sees himself as being above the need to negotiate. He is Barry "Almighty" and therefore His will must be obeyed. This shutdown is all his. He is the one responsible, no one else. So let us make sure that we use this moment in time to our best advantage. Let it be our line in the sand, our "red line", where we will stand united against Barry’s efforts to destroy our country.

OBAMA…ONCE AGAIN TAKES ARROGANCE TO NEW HEIGHTS…

Just in case any of us were about to forget just how arrogant our president really is, it was on Thursday that he saw fit to provide us all yet another brilliant demonstration of just how arrogant he can be. And in what I thought was behavior which was well beneath the dignity of his office, Barry actually chose to lecture the Republicans regarding what he described as being their "attitude" problem. This rather childish display of his came while he was speaking to an audience in The People’s Republic of Maryland, and Barry made it quite clear that it’s his opinion that there’s a group of Republican "extremists" who are now the only thing standing in the way of a "yes-or-no vote" on a continuing resolution to fund the federal government. Well, that wouldn’t really be an accurate assessment of things.

It was during this little tantrum of his that Barry supposedly quoted a House Republican as refusing to be "disrespected" by failing to "get something" out of the CR vote. To which Barry responded, and in typical juvenile fashion, by saying, "If you're being disrespected, it's because of that attitude you've got -- that you deserve to get something for doing your job." Adding, "Everybody here just does their job." You know, maybe, and I’m going out on a limb here, just maybe if, over the course of the last four years, our community agitator of a president had taken his job just a bit more seriously, and actually chose act like a leader and not just some kind of a spoiled brat, we wouldn’t be where we now find ourselves. But, nope, he just couldn’t bring himself to do it.

Barry prefaced his rather idiotic remarks, in his usual sophomoric manner, saying, "The only thing that is keeping the government shut down, the only thing preventing people from going back to work and basic research starting back up and farmers and small business owners getting their loans, the only thing that's preventing all that from happening, right now, today, in the next five minutes, is that Speaker John Boehner won't even let the bill get a yes-or-no vote because he doesn't want to anger the extremists in his party. That's -- that's all. That's what this whole thing is about." That is nothing more than pure Barry BULLSHIT! What’s keeping the government shutdown is the unwillingness of Democrats, including Barry, to compromise. THAT is what this whole thing is about.

Then Barry claimed to be quoting some unnamed House Republican: "I didn't make this up," Barry said: "One House Republican said, 'We're not going to be disrespected, we have to get something out of this, and I don't know what that even is.'" Barry repeated the quote and urged his audience to think about it: Speaking about House Republicans, he said, "You have already gotten the opportunity to serve the American people. There's no higher honor than that. You've already gotten the opportunity to help businesses like this one, workers like these. So the American people aren't in the mood to give you a goodie bag to go with it." Now wouldn’t you think that a 52 year old guy could act a little more mature? I mean, really. Who but his brain dead supporters will fall for his infantile drivel?

As part of his ridiculous little rant, Barry stupidly remarked that House Republicans should be content to put people back to work. "That's what you should be asking for," he said. "Take a vote, stop this farce, and end this shutdown right now." Well, why doesn’t that same logic apply equally to the ‘Dingy Harry’ and the Democrats? After all, it’s the Republicans have said they will fund all of government on a short-term basis, except for Obamacare, and ‘Dingy Harry Reid who has said nothing but NO!. Most Republicans view this as being their best chance to stop what they, and more than a few Democrats as well, have called a "train wreck." Republicans have rightly pointed out Barry’s lack of leadership, and specifically, his refusal to even try to bring the two sides together.

Just a brief word about this whole Obamacare fiasco. I’m really getting sick tired of hearing from Democrats about how it is that the unaffordable Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, has been legislated, adjudicated and reaffirmed by the American people by way of the last election. But that’s less than an accurate portrayal of the events as they have occurred. In "legislating" this train wreck, the Democrats used every political shenanigan available to them to shove it through Congress. And I think we all know full well how the law was, in being adjudicated by the Supreme Court, essentially rewritten. And I think it’s a stretch to claim that the last election was somehow a referendum on Obamacare when it was far from being the only issue. None of these arguments hold any water!

BOEHNER AGAIN POISED TO KNIFE CONSERVATIVES IN THE BACK?

Just when I think we MIGHT be making a bit of forward progress in the right direction, along comes John Boehner to prove me nothin but wrong. Because, apparently, according to a new report out from the New York Times, it would seem that our perpetually spineless Speaker of the House, the guy who just never seems to be able to pass up an opportunity to knife conservatives in the back, has told fellow lawmakers that he’d be willing to allow legislation to come to the House floor that would raise the nation’s debt limit yet again. And he would do so even if a majority of his fellow House Republicans, oppose such a measure.

That move, if Boehner were to actually go through with it, would violate the longstanding Hastert rule, that unwritten policy that says the Speaker will not allow legislation onto the floor that is not supported by a majority of the party in power. Because should Boehner allow such legislation to come to the floor, it would then require only a small number of supposed Republicans to cross the aisle to join their Democrat brethren in voting for and, in all likelihood, passing it. Now if Boehner does go through with move, then every effort must be undertaken, and as soon as possible, to remove him from the Speakership.

"Hurricane Sandy, the fiscal cliff, all of the big votes require reasonable Republicans and Democrats to come together in order to pass it and get it to the president’s desk," Rep. Michael G. Fitzpatrick (R-PA) told the Times. "This will be no different." What the Hell does this moron mean when he says, reasonable Republicans? Personally speaking, I can only assume that what he must really mean are those who we recognize as RINOs but who like to refer to themselves as being the "reasonable Republicans." There’s just no other way to look at it. This is the kind of crap that is to be considered as being unacceptable and needs to be stamped out!

And then we had Rep. Leonard Lance (R-NJ), another freaking RINO, who met with Boehner on Wednesday. And while this clown wouldn’t provide any details of what was said during that meeting to the Times, he did imply that such a move was indeed possible. "The speaker of the House does not want to default on the debt on the United States," he said, "and I believe he believes in Congress as an institution, and I certainly believe he is working for the best interests of the American people." Just a bunch of lame excuses the purpose of which is to properly prepare us for the coming disappointment, proving, once again, that our supposed leadership is anything but.

As for Boehner’s camp, they all seemed to be quite tight lipped, dodging the question but seeming to leave the door pretty far open. "The speaker has always been clear that a default would be disastrous for our economy," Boehner spokesman Michael Steel told the Times. "He’s also been clear that a ‘clean’ debt hike cannot pass the House." That last part of the quote references recent reports that over 20 RINOs have now signaled their support for a "clean" continuing resolution that fully funds both Obamacare and the federal government. So again it’s our side who seems to be only too happy to surrender.

I stopped trusting Boehner a long time ago. Frankly, I was shocked when I heard that he had sent to the Senate a Continuing Resolution (CR) that actually defunded Obamacare. I really didn’t think he had the backbone to do such a thing. But it was to be short lived. Because it wasn’t long after that he was already making compromises, weakening his own position. Who does that? Why is it that this is how our side defines leadership? Our guys seem to walk around with a white flag in their back pocket that they can have at the ready to throw anytime things get the least bit tough. Just doesn’t make any sense!

You know, after the 2010 elections I had some pretty high hopes. But I’ll tell ya what, it wasn’t very long after Boehner assumed his current position that I realized we could have done a whole lot better in choosing a speaker. Instead of having someone who possessed some real leadership abilities, we were, instead, saddled with someone who was, and who continues to be, pretty much useless. But he is far from being the only one lacking the necessary courage to put a stop to all of the madness. So, if not enough on our side are willing to do what we all know needs to be done to save our republic, might we now have to take matters into our own hands?

OUR STATE-CONTROLLED MEDIA PUSHES MORE U.N. PROPAGANDA…

Well, as some of you may have heard, that bizarre little group referred to as the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) recently released its latest dire warning about what it calls "catastrophic" climate change. Yes, my friends, once again we’re being told that the end is near unless we further bankrupt ourselves in trying prevent the unpreventable. While many a climate expert was quick to ridicule this conglomeration of what is some seriously flawed unscientific gobble-dee-goop, it did manage to garner the frantic attention of all three major broadcast networks almost as soon as it hit the street. The Communist Broadcasting System, or (CBS), even went so far as to air one of the claims of the report, that temperatures could be rising "more than 200 degrees."

But, as is usually the case whenever dealing with our, less than trustworthy, state-controlled media complex, the evening news shows on ABC, CBS and NBC, in repeating the IPCC’s dire warnings, did so with nary a mention of the report’s many prominent skeptics and without bothering to mention any of the IPCC’s glaring failures of the past, such as their inability to accurately predict warming or sea level rise. ABC, NBC and CBS all failed to include any criticism whatsoever of the IPCC with the exception of what was nothing more than a sophomoric swipe at "skeptics" on ABC. NBC continued to do its best to link such weather events as Hurricane Sandy to climate change while CBS aired a statistic that one scientist called completely "meaningless."

And with the words "big warning" in bold letters extending across the screen, ABC announced this "landmark" report, describing it as coming from some "top scientists." Then some guy, who I can only assume must be their resident climate change doofus, Dan Harris, went on to mention weather events including "superstorm Sandy," after which he ominously warned that the "UN report says we will be seeing much more of these kinds of things in the coming decades as a result of climate change ..." But let’s face it, this idiotic IPCC has been saying this kind of stuff for years. And yet, other than the stray fluke, which Sandy most certainly was, nothing has happened that would provide any amount of proof that they know what the Hell they’re talking about.

And while this imbecile, Harris, did go on to acknowledge the existence of other viewpoints on the topic, he then immediately proceeded to tear them all down by saying, "skeptics have predictably accused the UN panel of being alarmist, but Princeton climate scientist Michael Oppenheimer, who is on the panel, says this is a major wake up call." Yet this supposed scientist, Oppenheimer, himself has been accused of perpetuating what has been proven to be nothing more than activist junk science from other bogus scientists, according to meteorologist Anthony Watts’ website. But of course our boy Harris, here, didn’t bother to mention any of that. No sense in clouding the issue by throwing in any relevant facts. After all, what good would that do?

The geniuses over at the Communist Broadcasting System, otherwise known as CBS, took a slightly different approach, deciding to air a story about oyster farming and sprinkling in complaints that climate change is ruining a man’s business. But in Ben Tracy’s story, which of course made prominent mention of the IPCC’s latest report, he said that oceans have absorbed much of the heat caused by CO2 and that ocean temperatures have risen only slightly. Then he made a claim that Principal Research Scientist Dr. Roy Spencer of the University of Alabama in Huntsville called "totally misleading and irresponsible." Tracy actually made the claim, "Had all that heat gone into the atmosphere, air temperatures could have risen by more than 200 degrees."

Dr. Spencer told the MRC’s Business and Media Institute, "The oceans have warmed by an average of less than 0.1 deg. C (only the SURFACE by about 0.5 deg.) since the 1950s, and since that is so much water mass, the absorbed heat equivalent to 0.1 deg. If released all at once in the atmosphere [it] would, indeed, be hundreds of degrees. But this is physically impossible. It is a meaningless statistic. The heat actually had to go through the atmosphere before it reached the ocean." But, as is usually the case with our state-controlled media, the idiotic nonsense didn’t stop with CBS. All three networks seemed to be singing from the same sheet of U.N. crafted, global warming music.

Because according to the rather dim bulbs over there at NBC, we are now "hurtling" at near breakneck speed toward that day when climate change will be "irreversible and catastrophic." There resident ‘Chicken Little’, some bimbo by the name of Anne Thompson, actually warned us that if things remain unchanged, the seas would rise three feet by the end of the century, and we’d have more storms like Sandy. But oddly enough, the media’s many claims about hurricanes and "Superstorm" Sandy simply don’t line up with the facts. The U.S. is currently experiencing a drought of "intense" hurricanes, and climatologist Dr. John Christy, of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, has noted that even Sandy was a "minimal hurricane" at best.

Yet, NBC was sounding the alarm, calling for "drastic" changes in carbon emissions. Anne Thompson interviewed some environmentalist wacko by the name of Jeff Masters, of the equally wacko, Weather Underground. Regarding CO2 emissions, she asked him "How much longer can we go?" He responded by saying, "We’ve got about 30 or 40 years before we have to completely stop and go to zero." Christy said he has examined the climate models used for the latest IPCC report, all of which failed to account for the lack of warming since 1996. He stated that he had analyzed all 73 models used in the latest IPCC report and not one accurately predicted that the Earth’s temperature would remain flat since Oct. 1, 1996.

And so it should come as no surprise that all three networks made sure to exclude any and all information from their segments regarding the IPCC’s less than impressive track record. None pointed out the IPCC’s lack of explanation for the "pause" in global warming over the past 15 years, although Scott Pelley mentioned that "the rise in air temperatures has slowed." The networks also failed to mention embarrassing "mistakes," such as the inclusion in the 2007 IPCC report of an "unfounded" prediction that the Himalayan glaciers would melt by 2035. They have made predictions time and again that far exceeded actual climate changes, as The Daily Mail (UK) reported on Sept. 14. But ABC, CBS and NBC didn’t consider that worth mentioning to viewers on Sept. 27.

That our much vaunted state-controlled media would take it upon themselves to perpetuate what is nothing more than pure propaganda should make it all the more apparent that they are simply no longer worthy of our attention or trust. They seem quite willing, and almost eager, to busy themselves by spreading all manner of false information. And for what purpose, exactly? What kind of sick person must you be to sit in front a television camera, night after night, and do nothing more than to tell lie upon lie to your fellow Americans? But that’s what those who profess to call themselves journalist do these days. No one in the media, or very few, actually tells the truth anymore. And it’s not just on this bogus climate change, the list of things that we are lied to about is nearly endless.

And "We the People" are the ones who suffer, because we have fewer and fewer sources of accurate information. These days we must automatically assume that everybody is lying to us. And more often that not they are. It’s just all so damn depressing. Staying informed these days is hard work, and the problem lies in the fact that most people don’t want to expend the energy. They’d rather sit in front of the boob-tube and listen to the idiots listed above spew their drivel. They believe the garbage they’re being told without ever bothering to take the time to find out if any of it is true. These are dark times my friends and getting very much darker and those in the press are working feverishly to keep things from us. So believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you can see.

WELCOME TO OBAMA’S ‘SHUTDOWN’…

When it comes to the issue of our current government ‘shutdown’, Barry "Almighty", our ‘Dear Beloved Leader’, is being more than a little dishonest, which is nothing new, when discussing what exactly brought it about. The fact is, is that he and his fellow Democrats have simply refused to negotiate, slamming the door on reopening the government by doing nothing more than to make impossible demands. And, as stories across the country highlight the devastating impact that Obamacare is having on working families and small businesses, Democrats continue to reject any and all demands of fairness for all Americans.

And let’s face it, those of us who work at staying at least minimally informed should be not surprised at all by this continuing arrogant and egomaniacal behavior that we see coming from Barry and the Democrats. It’s not like we haven’t seen all before, and repeatedly. It’s part of a much bigger picture: that being, of course, Barry's scorched-Earth policy of refusing to negotiate in a bipartisan way on his health care law, current government funding, or the debt limit. We are just supposed to hear his commands and then obey. We are but the servant of this man who apparently sees himself as being nothing short of a God.

It was earlier this week that Senate Democrats, acting in concert with Barry "Almighty", rejected no less than four separate proposals from the House of Representatives that were designed to keep the government running and to fund all basic services. On Friday, September 20, the House passed legislation that would keep the government running, fund Medicare, Social Security, veterans benefits, and more, while removing funding for Barry’s debacle of a health care law, which is driving up costs and killing our economy. The Democratic-controlled Senate chose to reject this measure.

And then on Saturday, September 28, the House passed yet another measure to keep the government running, this time attempting to delay Barry's health care law for one year, and that would permanently repeal Obamacare's tax on such things as pacemakers and children's hearing aids. Senate Democrats again rejected the measure on a straight party-line vote. Oh and by the way, the House also passed the Pay Our Military Act, which ensures that our troops are paid during a government shutdown. Thankfully, that measure was adopted by the Senate and actually signed by Barry "Almighty".

And then just this past Monday, September 30, the House again passed another measure, albeit one that some would say was a pretty watered down version of the previous bills, that would keep the government running and ensure fairness for all Americans under the Barry's disastrous health care law. Since Barry had already illegally delayed the law's mandates on big businesses and insurance companies, this most recent bill would have done nothing more than to delay the law for everyone else. But, no surprise here, the Senate was quick to reject this measure as well. Obamacare is considered as being completely off-limits.

The House then passed a second bill late on Monday requesting a formal conference committee with the Senate to come to an agreement on legislation that provides funding for the federal government and delays the president's health care law for all Americans. After all, that is the system the Founding Fathers gave us to resolve differences between the House and Senate. The Senate then opposed that measure as well, so Senate Democrats and Barry "Almighty" got the government shutdown that they apparently so badly wanted. Because for them this is always about politics

Now in the meantime, it’s in just a few weeks that Congress must act to raise the debt limit to pay the tab for Barry's insane amount of spending. There is no way Congress can or should pass such a bill without there also being some pretty significant spending cuts and reforms to deal with the debt and deficit that, hopefully, would help get our economy moving in the right direction. But Barry refuses to even talk about negotiating such a bipartisan agreement. For years we have heard Barry say that in a divided government, no one gets 100% of what they want. I guess what he meant was, anybody but him.

Democrats, Barry included, love to talk about compromise, but rarely, if ever, do they ever actually take part in it. Democrats view compromise as being for suckers, and Republicans. From their rather skewed perspective there’s simply never any need for them to compromise because, and as ridiculous as this may sound, they claim to be the protector of the little guy, and as such are therefore entitled to do whatever they feel they must in that supposed endeavor. But the truth doesn’t quite match up with reality, because sadly, it’s just the opposite that’s true. They’ve done little to protect anyone but themselves.

I think it’s pretty common knowledge, or it should be, that the priorities of the Democrat Party rarely match up with the priorities of the American people, and nothing provides a better example of that than their stubborn refusal to modify Obamacare. That would be because this law that they ‘passed’, using all manner of political trickery, gives to them a level of control over people that, up until now, they have only been able to dream about. And now that they have it, they’re not likely to let go of it willingly. No matter what the people may feel about it. Our opinion simply doesn’t matter. All that matters is power!

And therein lies the reason behind the government shutdown and the primary reason why the Democrats refuse to budge when it comes to Obamacare. They have exempted themselves from the effects of it because, after all, there’s no need to control themselves. And I have no doubt that before long we’ll all be hearing about how it is that their union friends have also be exempted. So the only ones who will be made to comply with this thing will be we, the unwashed masses. And I am not a firm believer that this law will come crashing down under its own weight, it’s going to need to be brought down. One way or another!

THE ALTERNATE UNIVERSE OF BARACK OBAMA…

What, do you suppose, must it be like to live in the alternate universe of Barry "Almighty"? I only ask because I can remember back to a not too distant time, when candidate Barry said that if you made less the $250,000 you would not see your taxes go up bu one dime? Well, I think we all now know how well that one worked out. But, it must have worked well enough for Barry, because just today in a little speech over at the White House, Barry was heard to say that raising the debt ceiling "does not cost taxpayers a single dime."

In fact, Barry said, raising the debt ceiling is simply "routine." However, never before in the history of our country have we been talking about such a staggering amount of debt that has been accrued in such a short, historically speaking, period of time. We have progressed well beyond the point where the taking on of any more debt should be considered as being, to use Barry’s word, "routine." I just don’t understand how ANYONE can look at $17 Trillion of debt and declare it as being merely routine. To me that’s nothing short of insanity!

"For example, one of the most important things Congress has to do in the next couple weeks is to raise what's called the debt ceiling. And it's important to understand what this is. This is a routine vote. Congress has taken this vote 45 times to raise the debt ceiling since Ronald Reagan took office." My response to that is, "So fucking what?" This isn’t the 1980s or the 1990s, when the our debt, while still considered to be too high by many, was nowhere near what Barry and the Democrats have gotten it up to today. We’re spending money faster than we can print it.

And then Barry, in lying through those big pearly whites of his, went on to say, "It does not cost taxpayers a single dime. It does not grow our deficits by a single dime. It does not authorize anybody to spend any new money whatsoever. All it does is authorize the Treasury to pay the bills on what Congress has already spent." Just how stupid does he think we really are? Or is he simply delusional? I mean, how can this make sense to anyone? And I’ll tell ya, any Democrat that goes along with this level of insanity must be viewed as being just as dangerous as Barry.

What’s underway here is the very purposeful destruction of our country. And anyone who can bring themselves to agree with what Barry is trying to do here must be considered as being an enemy of the people. No more excuses can be, or should be, tolerated. Politicians are to be considered as either being with us or against us, there can be no middle ground. Taking up the middle ground is what helped get us here. Somewhere there must be some Democrats who are willing to stand up to this madness. In the present political climate, Republicans cannot do it alone. Real leadership will be required of both sides.

OUR ‘MAINSTREAM’ MEDIA HAS BECOME BADLY CORRUPTED…

So, you ask, just how far in the tank for Barry "Almighty" are those malcontents who comprise our state-controlled media complex? Well as it turns out, Barry should have absolutely nothing to worry about when it comes to his being made to face the music for that which he is just about solely responsible for bringing about. And of course what I mean is the much talked about, government shutdown. The media is very squarely on his side.

The most recent example of where our in-the-tank ‘news’ media stands when it comes to the issue of the shutdown, comes to us by way of that Virginia-based trade/propaganda publication, Politico, who makes it quite obvious on whose side they are very firmly on in this political standoff. Because according to this particular publication, Barry "Almighty" is said to be winning by shutting down the government.

"President Barack Obama started September in an agonizing, extended display of how little sway he had in Congress. He ended the month with a display of resolve and strength that could redefine his presidency," or so says Politico propagandists Edward-Isaac Dovere and Reid J. Epstein. "All it took was a government shutdown." Like most other places, this is apparently what now passes for journalism over there at Politico.

To bolster their position that Barry is actually showing strength by shutting down the government, Politico quotes Barry himself, White House spokesmoron Jay "The Liar" Carney, OMB deputy director Brian Deese, Democrat pollster Stan Greenberg, and Democrat strategist Jim Manley. All of the quotations in the story are, of course, in support of Barry and all are from Democrats. For theirs is to be seen as the righteous position.

Indeed, one even uses Politico to tell the president to continue blaming Republicans. "Manley advised Obama to make sure people continue to see Boehner and the House Republicans as the problem and not rush into any more negotiations until public outrage forces them to bend," writes Politico. Ah yes, true biased reporting and it’s absolute finest. Proving, once again, there is little that one hears these days that one can actually believe.

And it should come as no surprise that there were no Republicans quoted anywhere in this rather skewed story. After all, why muddy up the waters by throwing in any competing opinions. And not one person skeptical of the president's strategy not to negotiate with Republicans is quoted in the story. "Best DNC press release ever," says one longtime Washington reporter. "Brad Woodhouse [the former DNC spokesman] should take notes."

This is just one more incident the reaffirms my belief that with each passing day, that which used to pass as our ‘mainstream’ news media continues to make itself less and less relevant. Granted, they still have the ear of a great many Americans, but many more today than when I was a kid now turn a deaf ear to those who seem to have forgotten what the mission of the press is supposed to be. Personally, I’d be embarrassed to call myself a journalist today.

Because far from being democracy’s watchdog, those who comprise the state-controlled media of today have become the left’s attack dogs. Instead of striving to keep the American people informed, far too much energy is now expended on keeping us all in the dark. And sadly, in doing so, those in the media, though their continuing acts of subversion, are making it all that much easier for those in power to rob from us more and more of our freedoms.

These days you need to be careful who you’re listening to. No longer is it safe to simply accept things at face value. You must always assume that you’re being lied to. Because more often than not, you are. Trust but verify. Truth is said to always win out, but the more time you have to waste trying to discover it, the more difficult it will be for you to combat all the lies that have been told in the meantime. And I fear we may be loosing the battle.

GWEN MOORE TRIES TO MAKE IT ALL ABOUT RACE…

Introducing yet another brilliant congressional Democrat who seems to be far more interested in moving the political agenda of her party forward than she is with the genuine needs of the black community. Our esteemed Rep. Gwen Moore makes that crystal clear when she makes the idiotic claim that the Republicans want to shut down the government as a way "to punish the people for electing Barack Obama President of the United States." Obviously she’s unable to think for herself, if the best this moron can do is to spew her party’s talking points. If she were really concerned about those folks in the black community, she’d put their needs above her party’s twisted desires. But that ain’t gonna happen!

Anyway, this imbecile, Moore, made her idiotic comments from the House floor on Saturday, as lawmakers debated the language of a new continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government. "This whole debate is a subterfuge and a proxy for a strong desire to bring this nation to its knees to punish the people for electing Barack Obama President of the United States, " Moore said. Frankly I’m surprised she was able to use the word ‘subterfuge’ in a sentence. She then went on to say, "This debate is not about medical devices, about birth control, about Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act. It is about continuing to have our government operate for another few days."

So it was then that over the weekend, the House passed a short-term CR House that delays Obamacare and permanently repeals a tax on medical devices. The Senate, led by the very sleazy ‘Dingy Harry’ Reid, will most certainly reject the measure on Monday, which I’m sure will please Ms. Moore, as well as her fellow members of the Congressional Black Caucus, no end. But who is it that is liable to be made to suffer the most under this abomination of Obamacare? But that must matter very little to Ms. Moore, what’s remains the top priority is the fact that the government be able to maintain control of what healthcare remains available to the American people. Nothing else is anywhere near as important.

ADVICE FROM THE OLD “SLICKMEISTER”…

The Democrats were recently on the receiving end of the type of political advice that one could expect to hear coming from that sage of the party, ‘Slick Willie Clinton. As you may recall, it was old Slick’s administration that was made to experience a partial government shutdown back in 1996, and it was able to be spun as being the fault of the GOP. So now, he’s come out and said that he wouldn’t bother negotiating with Republicans on the eve of another shutdown. But what the ‘Slickmeister’ seems to ignore completely, and some Republicans do as well, is that 2013 is not 1996. And no matter how much he might wish it were so, a lot has changed over course of the last 17 years.

And things have changed the most dramatically just over the course of the last four years, with spending having gone through the roof, the racking up of an incredible amount of debt and an economy that is, quite literally, being destroyed by the very ones who claim to be ‘fixing it. And Obamacare is a fixture of all three of these areas. "I think there are times when you have to call people’s bluff," Clinton advised during an interview with his old sidekick, George "Stephy" Stephanopoulos," on Stephy’s stupid little Sunday show. And if this is the mentality we can expect from those on the left, then Republicans are left with few choices. They will need to stiffen their spines and plow ahead.

Slick said Republican tactics to undermine the 2010 health-care law seem "almost spiteful." However, I would argue that it’s just the opposite that’s true. I’d say that it’s the Democrats who are the ones being spiteful. They’re insisting upon putting their own political agenda above the desires of the American people. I mean, look, there has been poll after poll taken by all manner of polling group that has made it quite clear that well over 60 percent of the American people remain firmly against this thing. They see it as being far too intrusive, far too costly and incredibly destructive of our fragile economy. So it would be the Republicans who seem to be the ones doing that which the American people want done.

The Slickster recalled some "extremely minor" negotiations during his administration’s partial closures and said that, in this case, there isn’t an opportunity for real talks. "The current price of stopping it is higher than the price of letting the Republicans do it and taking their medicine," he said. "If they’re going to change the way the Constitution works and fundamentally alter the character of our country and damage the future of a lot of kids, you just have to say no." But in so saying, "BJ" seems to ignore completely the rather sleazy gimmicks used by his fellow Democrats to get the thing ‘passed’. Remember how it had to be passed in order for us find out what was in it? Old Slick don’t remember that, I guess

That’s the thing with these scum-sucking Democrats like the old Slickmeister. The rules are never meant to apply to them, only to the other guys. Democrats must be free to do whatever they want, however they want, because their motives are the ones considered to be so pristine. But it’s just the opposite that’s nearly always true. And despite what "BJ" said, it’s not the Republicans who are working to change the way our Constitution works, nor to fundamentally alter the character of our country. In fact, wasn’t it Barry who promised that if elected his goal was to "fundamentally transform" our country? We’re always being made to believe that it’s the Democrats who have our back, when all they really want to do is to shove a knife in it.

‘SLICK WILLIE’ CLINTON CALLS TED CRUZ A LIAR???

‘Slick Willie’ Clinton, who you’ll all remember was impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives for, among other things, lying under oath and obstruction of justice, and who was also held in contempt of court by U.S. District Judge Susan Webber Wright for giving "intentionally false" testimony, made quite the claim this past weekend. You see, during an interview that he gave to his former staffer George ‘Stephy’ Stephanopoulos on ABC News’s "This Week With George Stephanopoulos" on Sunday, old ‘Slick’ actually accused Sen. Ted Cruz of making multiple false statements during his filibuster on the Senate floor last week. Funny right, here we had one pathetic lying sack of shit claiming to another pathetic lying sack of shit, that it’s Sen. Cruz who’s really the liar? Ya, right!

Anyway, the old ‘Slickmeister’ told Stephy, "I listened to some of Sen. Cruz’s filibuster on the health-care bill and he just kept making all these claims that just aren’t so and everybody knows they’re not." Now I too listened to a goodly share, but not all of Cruz’s filibuster, and I don’t recall hearing him say anything that wasn’t true. And of course, as is usually the case with Democrats, "BJ" didn’t bother to cite any specifics of what Cruz lied about, nor did Stephy bother to ask old "BJ" to provide any examples or to in any way justify his assertion that Cruz had made such false statements. So I guess we’re just expected to simply accept "BJ’s" claims at face value. Sorry, I stopped believing Democrats a longtime ago, and the way this thing was shoved through Congress, "BJ" has got no room to be calling Cruz a liar.

The sad truth is that this whole charade was nothing more than a way for "BJ" to offer up encouragement to Barry and Senate Democrats to not give in to congressional Republicans on the question of delaying Obamacare. Slickster said, "This is the House Republicans and the Tea Party people saying we don’t want to negotiate with the Democrats." He went on to say, "We want to dictate over the Senate, over the House Democrats, over the Speaker of the House of our own party and over the president. We insist on dictating the course of the country." You see, this is how Democrats like "BJ" accuse the Republicans of doing what Democrats have been doing for decades. Democrats always make it sound as if it is they who are always the ones to compromise and to bend over backwards to satisfy the Republicans unreasonable demands.

Stephy then asked: "So you’re saying you just have to stand up to that no matter what the consequences?" "BJ" said "I do. I do." Adding that, "It’s terrible because all over the world people see like, you know---I listened to some of Sen. Cruz’s filibuster on the health-care bill and he just kept making all these claims that just aren’t so and everybody knows they’re not." But still he could never bring himself to name even one example! And "BJ" knew that he could get away with telling his lies about Cruz because there was no way that Stephy was going to be asking him to provide any sort of proof. Such is what our state-controlled media has now become, which is nothing more than an extension of the Democrat Party. The role of the media today is to furnish a stage to Democrats to spew their propaganda with no questions asked.

THE ULTIMATE ACT OF BLATANT POLITICAL COWARDICE…

Twenty-five Republican senators, led by Mitch McConnell and John "The Maverick" McCain turned their back on the American people yesterday. They did so by choosing to vote in favor of invoking cloture on the House-passed continuing resolution to fund the government past Monday. This gutless act had the disastrous result of putting ‘Dingy Harry’ Reid in the rather enviable position of then being able to strip the bill of its provision for defunding Obamacare with a simple party-line majority vote instead of the 60 votes needed on cloture.

House and Senate conservatives had hoped that the 46 Republicans in the Senate would join together and oppose cloture until ‘Dingy Harry’ agreed to use a Senate rule that requires amendments to clear a 60-vote threshold. Had our Senate Republicans actually done that, ‘Dingy Harry’ would have needed to put together a bipartisan 60-vote majority in order to restore Obamacare funding. But nope, they just couldn’t bring themselves to do it. Senate Republicans split on the cloture vote, with twenty-five joining old ‘Dingy’ and his Democrats.

As predicted, soon after the 25 Republicans joined with all Senate Democrats to invoke cloture on the CR, ‘Dingy Harry’ offered up an amendment to strip the CR of the language defunding Obamacare. ‘Dingy’s’ amendment resurrecting Obamacare, which at that point, after cloture, needed only a simple majority to pass, was approved on a party-line vote. All 54 Democrats voted for it, and all 44 Republicans present in the Senate at the time voted against it. But that vote was simply a way for the Republicans to ‘claim’ they had voted to defund Obamacare.

Here are the 25 Republicans who chose to stand with ‘Dingy Harry’ Reid instead of with the American people. We must remember these names come election time:
Lamar Alexander (R-TN)
Kelly Ayotte (R-NH)
John Barrasso (R-WY)
Roy Blunt (R-MO)
John Boozman (R-AR)
Richard Burr (R-NC)
Saxby Chambliss (R-GA)
Jeff Chiesa (R-NJ)
Daniel Coats (R-IN)
Tom Coburn (R-OK)
Thad Cochran (R-MS)
Susan Collins (R-ME)
Bob Corker (R-TN)
John Cornyn (R-TX)
Lindsey Graham (R-SC)
John Hoeven (R-ND)
Johnny Isakson (R-GA)
Mike Johanns (R-NE)
Mark Kirk (R-IL)
Ron Johnson (R-WI)
John McCain (R-AZ)
Mitch McConnell (R-KY)
Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)
John Thune (R-SD)
Roger Wicker (R-MS)

And these are the 19 Republicans who stood with "We the People", and told ‘Dingy Harry’ to go screw himself. We must also remember their names as well, but for entirely different reasons:
Mike Crapo (R-ID)
Ted Cruz (R-TX)
Mike Enzi (R-WY)
Deb Fischer (R-NE)
Chuck Grassley (R-IA)
Dean Heller (R-NV)
Jim Inhofe (R-OK)
Mike Lee (R-UT)
Jerry Moran (R-KS)
Rand Paul (R-KY)
Rob Portman (R-OH)
James Risch (R-ID)
Pat Roberts (R-KS)
Marco Rubio (R-FL)
Tim Scott (R-SC)
Jeff Sessions (R-AL)
Richard Shelby (R-AL)
Pat Toomey (R-PA)
David Vitter (R-LA)

To say that I’m disappointed in the outcome is an understatement. But at the same time I can’t really say that I’m surprised. Knowing the caliber of some of those individuals that we have in the Senate, I can’t say that I’m shocked at how things turned out. Republicans, at least a majority in the Senate, have once again proven themselves to be gutless cowards while choosing to do the equivalent of throwing their colleagues in the House under the bus. And, sadly, they demonstrated little conscious, being able to do so quite easily, without nary batting an eye.

We’re running out of time here, and we don’t have time to replace all of those who deserve to be replaced. A secretary of defense that I had a great deal of respect for, and still do, once said that you have to go to war with the army you have, not the army you wish you had. That would be the equivalent of where we now find ourselves. So our battle has been made more difficult, but if we can believe Ted Cruz, not impossible. But the weight on John Boehner’s shoulders just increased significantly. Now we must wait and see if he is up to what will be a crucial challenge.

TED CRUZ IN 2016…

Well lookee what we have here! It would seem that fresh off his 21-hour filibuster against Obamacare funding, we have a new poll that shows Sen. Ted Cruz has now leapfrogged past his potential rivals for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination and that GOP primary voters trust now him more than their party leaders on Capitol Hill. The Public Policy Polling survey found that 20 percent of those surveyed supported Mr. Cruz, Texas Republican, while 17 percent supposed Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, with two RINOS, Chris Christies and Jeb Bush coming in at 14 percent 11 percent respectively.

"Ted Cruz this week established himself as the grassroots hero of the Republican party," said Dean Debnam, president of PPP. "The party has more faith in him than their more official leaders like Mitch McConnell and John Boehner." Mr. Cruz has climbed eight percentage points in the poll since July - thanks in large part to strong support from people who identified themselves as "very conservative" and who support a government shutdown by a 75 percent to 10 percent margin. Speaking for myself, I am a big fan. And I really want to believe that he is, in fact, the real deal.

And I’m sure this is something that comes as no surprise, the poll also found that Mr. Cruz is now more trusted then Mr. McConnell, the Senate minority leader, Mr. Boehner, the speaker of the House, and even Sen. John ‘The Maverick" McCain, our party’s loser of a 2008 presidential nominee. "Our numbers also suggest that Cruz is now viewed more broadly as the leader of the Republican Party," the poll analysis said. "He now has more credibility with the GOP base than the folks who have been leading the party for years." Well, that because those folks have essentially been lying to us for years!

And rumor has it that The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is very pleased with the notion of Mr. Cruz becoming the face of the Republican Party. Although I think they may be a little premature if already planning a campaign strategy that would undoubtedly be centered around their desire to portray him as being some right wing ideologue. The one thing I like about Cruz is that I doubt very seriously if we’d see him backing down, or shying away from a fight. And in maybe I’m getting a little premature myself, but if Cruz does end up being our man, the scum-sucking Democrats better be ready to bring their A-team.

Like I said, the only thing that worries me is the thought that he isn’t what he seems to be. Although up to this point, I must admit, he has been pretty consistent. And I don’t think for a minute that he is some sort of publicity whore, as he has been accused of being by folks on both sides of the aisle. Accusations that I think have their source in what is nothing more than pure jealously. Cruz connects with people in a way most other politicians only wish they could. He’s perceived as being honest and as someone who you can actually trust. Both are qualities rare for a politician. He means what he says, and says what he means.

AL GORE ON THOSE DASTARDLY REPUBLICANS…

Recently Al Gore gave one of his typical style of speeches, this one coming at the Brookings Institution. While the speech was delivered with Gores standard fervor, the subject wasn’t his usual hysterics about man made climate change, even though the subject of his recent rant was just as bogus. Because, you see, what Al was talking about this time was Obamacare. And it was during this rant/speech that Gore again went over the top, actually referring to Republican efforts to defund Obamacare through the continuing resolution as "political terrorism." There’s something ironic about Gore talking about political terrorism.

Now for those of unfamiliar with this Brookings outfit, in front of whom Gore spoke, it’s a ‘think tank’ that describes itself as being independent and non-partisan. But I’m not quite sure that that would be an accurate description. Because upon closer examination, courtesy of a 2011 study that looked at think tank employee donations from 2003 to 2010, we see that over 97% of Brookings's employees' political donations went to Democrats. Also that same study actually described the think tank as being "liberal". So that Al chose this particular venue for this particular rant, should come as no surprise

Gore said, "Now I’m going to talk about the potential for a shutdown in just a moment, but I think the only phrase that describes it is political terrorism. Nice global economy you got there, it’d be a shame if we had to destroy it. We have a list of demands. If you don’t meet them all by our deadline, we’ll blow up the global economy." Gore then asked rhetorically,. "Really?" Never mind the fact that nothing of what he said had any basis whatsoever in the truth. But let’s face it, with him being a Democrat, we know for a fact that the truth has pretty much the same effect on Democrats as sunlight has on vampires.

Then Gore asked, "Where are the American people in this? Why does partisanship have anything to do with such a despicable and dishonorable threat to the integrity of the United States of America?" He then bellowed in typical Gore fashion, "It cannot be allowed." Well, to begin with it’s a pretty sizable majority of the American people who are less than thrilled with Obamacare. And secondly, those posing the biggest threat to the ‘integrity’ of our nation are, more often than not, of the same political persuasion as our global warming nut, Al Gore. So I’m not surprised that those in attendance were in agreement with everything he said.

Gore said the only way to stop Republican efforts to defund Obamacare through the CR is for members of both political parties as well as independents to say: "‘Look, I might not agree with everything that is in the Affordable Care Act, but it did pass, it was upheld by the Supreme Court. It is the law of the land." Most people agree with NOTHING that’s in Obamacare. And this law of the land that was shoved through Congress using some of the most despicable political tactics imaginable. So Gore can shove that sh!t where the sun don’t shine. Like most progressives he just makes sh!t up as he goes along!

Then in claiming to be speaking on behalf of the American people he said, "‘You didn’t succeed in the constitutional process, by which this was considered, and now you want to threaten to not only shut down our government, but to blow up world economy unless we go back and undo what we did according to the processes of our democracy? How dare you? How dare you?’" I always find it somewhat hypocritical whenever liberal douche bags like Gore start talking about the constitutional process as if it’s something that they genuinely believe in. I seriously doubt Al, or any Democrat, even knows what the Constitution says.

CHRIS CHRISTIE…A LEGEND IN HIS OWN MIND…

Does anyone really care what Chris Christie thinks about what’s going on in Washington? It would seem to me that he should perhaps focus more on the goings on in his own state. Because any delusions of grandeur that he might have once had about running for president in 2016 have all but evaporated. Oh, he can run, I suppose, but his chances of actually getting elected are about the same as Marco Rubio’s. That would be slim and none, with slim having just left town. Part of that stems from his rather skewed perception of things that has the Republicans being entirely to blame for what is going on Washington right now.

The rotund Mr. Christie made that point quite apparent what he implied on Thursday that "responsible Republican leaders" would not allow the government to shut down. Appearing on a Communist Broadcasting System, better known as CBS, morning show, Christie spewed, "That, by definition, is a failure. You’ve gotta work it out." Now of course the New Jersey blimp didn't bother to name any GOP politicians, but his remarks did come just a day after Texas Sen. Ted Cruz finished a 21-hour speech on the Senate floor advocating for the defunding of Obamacare. Christie is one of the GOP governors onboard with Obamacare.

Christie, who I can only assume must view himself as being one of those "responsible leaders", said, "I think there's got to be a solution other than that." Going on to say, "I don't think we should be doing that." Adding, "I think it's always irresponsible if you’re running the government to be advocating for shutting it down." Christie’s a boob. Apparently he’s incapable of recognizing the seriousness of our situation here, which in my mind, disqualifies him from ever being considered as a successor to Barry "Almighty". We now have accumulated $17 Trillion worth of debt. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

The disagreement over a funding bill, as those who have been paying attention know, has focused primarily on Barry’s unaffordable Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, which begins enrollment early next week. House Republicans pushed through a provision in the temporary spending plan to defund Obamacare. ‘Dingy Harry’ Reid has said he'll strip the defunding language before bringing the continuing resolution to a vote in the Senate, producing clean legislation amenable to the Democratic majority, which would then be sent back to the House for final passage, just days before the deadline.

And those Republican leaders, whom Christie identifies as being irresponsible, have said they'll reject the temporary spending plan the Senate is expected to pass. Christie noted in the interview he doesn't hear "responsible Republican leaders advocating for a shutdown of the government", a clear swipe at the Tea Party conservative wing of the GOP. I guess I’m a little curious regarding who it is that Christie might not think is a "responsible Republican leader." Am I to assume that Christie views ‘Dingy’ Harry’s use of sleazy tactics as being something that would make him a responsible leader? Whoops, another disqualifier for 2016.

I mean, we know that after some pretty public clashes, Christie has a rather low opinion of Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul. But I’d side with Paul any time before choosing to stand with Christie. But Christie still says that he thinks lawmakers will come to an agreement to avoid a shutdown. "I'm confident they will," Christie said. "Because I don't think anybody wants to go down that road." Well gee, where would we be without the brilliant political insight of Chris Christie? This guy should stick to New Jersey politics and steer clear of what’s going on in Washington. We really don’t need any more RINO’s mucking things up!

Besides, and I could be wrong here, but from my point of view, the rotund one from Jersey just might want to focus a bit more of his time and energy on the fact that New Jersey is now experiencing a rather significant shortage of doctors. In fact, it’s projected that by 2020 the Garden State will be about 3,000 primary care physicians short of what is needed to give optimal health care. And, dare I say, it is an issue that is sure to become much more of a problem that is, and in no small way, directly related to what’s now being discussed in Washington. Many doctors are choosing to retire early to escape having to deal with Obamacare.

There are other reasons, of course, for why are doctors fleeing the Garden State According to Deborah Briggs, the President and CEO of the Council of Teaching Hospitals, New Jersey loses nearly 70% of the doctors it educates to other states. This is well below the national average of a 48% retention rate. In other words, in 2013 New Jersey only kept about 34% of the doctors who were educated and trained in the state. The Council of Teaching Hospitals and a nationwide study done by Merritt Hawkins, says New Jersey is just not competitive when it comes to keeping doctors in state. You’d think Christie could do something about that!

The top five reasons for physicians leaving are: 1) Better salary offered outside of New Jersey; 2) Cost of living in New Jersey; 3) Better job/practice opportunities in desired locations outside of New Jersey; 4) Taxes in New Jersey; 5) Affordable Housing. Now a couple of Assemblywomen, doing what Christie should be doing, recently gathered doctors, residents, hospital managers, and specialist at Jersey Shore Medical Center to discuss New Jersey’s doctor drain. The room was filled with 40 or so doctors who also added malpractice insurance issues to the list, explaining that it’s just too expensive to start a practice there.

The bottom line here is, at least as far as I’m concerned, rather than working to insert his rather substantial girth wherever he can manage, in an effort to gain more name recognition for himself, he might want to find time to focus more of his attention on what some would say is a burgeoning crisis right there in his home state, that being the previously mentioned shortage of doctors. There are actions he could take as governor that might entice doctors to remain in New Jersey rather than make a mad dash for the border as soon as they are able. But nope, he’d rather harangue the Tea Party Republicans in Congress. Good job Chris!

THAT’S ONE BIG “IF”…

Sen. Ted Cruz was heard to say, just today, on a conference call that even if the Senate passes a continuing resolution (CR) that permits funding of Obamacare, the fight to defund it is not over. That’s because, he says, Obamacare cannot be funded unless the Republican-controlled House of Representatives agrees to do it. Cruz said, "House Republicans can, and I believe should, continue to stand their ground." He added, "And, so, if the House holds firm, Harry Reid has no ability to muscle the House of Representatives—if they stand their ground." And therein lies a mighty big ‘IF’. Because since assuming control of the House after the 2010 election, our less than impressive Republican leadership has been more than willing to quickly cede their ground on nearly every important issue.

Cruz said that the cloture vote the Senate will hold Friday on the House-passed version of the CR is the "most important" vote that senators will cast this year. In his view, that is because if at least 41 of 46 Republicans do not vote against cloture, and thus prevent the bill from coming to a final vote in the Senate, ‘Dingy Harry’ Reid, at this point in time, will be able to get simple majority vote of at least 51 Democrats to attach an amendment to the CR stripping the language defunding Obamacare. Nonetheless, sounding ever the optimist, Cruz said, if that happens the fight is not over because the bill must then go back to the House, and Obamacare cannot be funded unless the Republican-controlled House agrees to it. Well, that all sounds fine in theory, but I ain’t holding my breath.

"Number one, if enough Senate Republicans on tomorrow’s cloture vote decide to vote with Harry Reid and grant cloture to give Harry Reid the authority to fund Obamcare, that does not mean the fight is over," said Cruz. "It means Harry Reid will pass out of the Senate a continuing resolution that funds Obamacare, but it still goes back to the House." Cruz went on to say, "And even if Senate Republicans have not shown the same strength of will that House Republicans have shown, that doesn’t mean the fight is over because House Republicans can, and I believe should, continue to stand their ground." He added, "So, if the House holds firm, Harry Reid has no ability to muscle the House of Representatives—if they stand their ground." House hold firm? Just not seeing it.

Cruz said, "I have said before I think the most important role that I can play that [Sen.] Mike Lee [R.-Utah] can play, that others can play, is to serve as a cheerleader encouraging and supporting the House Republicans to stand with the American people," said Cruz. "Because the continuing resolution that the House passed reflects the strong will of the American people who understand that Obamcare is not working." But since when has the will of the people ever had much of an impact on what happens in Congress? The fact that Boehner & Co. actually took the step to defund, was a fluke. ‘Dingy Harry’ is just gonna throw it right back at them and I have little doubt that upon receipt they’ll quickly fold like a cheap suit, the will of the people be damned. But we’ll see, maybe I’m wrong. I hope so!

PETE KING…WHINER…

You know, I really used to really respect this guy, especially when it came to stressing the importance for this country to effectively combat radical Islamic terrorism. He held some hearings that, I thought, were necessary and useful. But recently he’s been making the kind of noise that one would normally expect to hear from some scum-sucking Democrat. For one thing, he’s been very busy criticizing Ted Cruz, and was recently heard whining a bit about some phone calls that his office has supposedly received. He complained that supporters of the Texas senator have been bombarding his office with what he referred to as being, "vile" phone calls. Come on, Pete, stop being such a damn crybaby, and suck it up and deal with it!

And in what I thought was a little uncalled for, Pete actually referred to Cruz as a fraud for his calls to defund Obamacare, and said the senator’s campaign this summer to get the House to pass a government funding bill that defunds the health care law led to some offensive phone calls to his office. "The vehemence of the phone calls coming into the office. I don’t care, people can call me whatever they want … I haven’t heard such vile, profane, obscene language," King whined on MSNBC’s "Morning Joe" on Thursday. Come on, he’s from New York, I doubt that there’s much in the way of language that he hasn’t heard. And I’d argue that he’s brought it all on himself by describing Cruz in the manner that he has?

King said while the majority of Cruz fans are "good people," he’s concerned about what sentiments Cruz has preyed on. "I’m not saying Ted Cruz is responsible for all his supporters, but he has tapped into a dark strain here in the American political psyche here, and again, the most obscene, profane stuff you can imagine all from people who say they support the Constitution," King said. "I think what we have to do is reach out to his people and let them know that they’re following a false leader here." You know, maybe if he were to spend a little less time whining, and a little more time on trying to get rid of the boondoggle of Obamacare, we just might get rid of it. I think it’s time for Pete to quit whining and put his big boy pants on.

Anyway, it seems to me that old Pete, here, has developed a bit of a thin skin. And most likely there’s more than just a little exaggeration in his claims of receiving ‘nasty’ calls. And to portray Cruz as being a false leader I think is taking things just a bit too far. Now I’m not saying I believe King, but if he has been on the receiving end of some heated phone calls, he really shouldn’t be all that surprised. People are fed up with guys like King continuing to give away the farm to the Democrats, and Cruz has demonstrated that he’s ready, and willing, to fight. That’s what people WANT. Someone who will FIGHT! And if Pete can’t bring himself to be part of the solution, then he shouldn’t be surprised if folks see him as being part of the problem.

WE’VE GOT TO STOP THIS OBAMA INSANITY…

As I have asked on any number of previous occasions, does anyone ‘really’ think that Barry cares, even for a second, what his job-approval rating is? Do you think he goes to bed every night thinking about the many Americans who see him as a man out to destroy their country? Personally, I don’t think it bothers him anymore than a cloudy day. He is where he’s gonna be for the next 3+ years and there’s not a damn thing that we can do about it. And he’s got douche bag ‘Dingy Harry’ Reid, watching his back in the Senate and Nancy ‘I’ve Had A Bit Too Much Botox’ Pelosi stirring up as much hate and discontent as she can over in the House, so Barry, no doubt, sees himself as being in fat city.

But be that as it may, Barry’s job-approval rating has fallen to its lowest level since 2011, which is said to be a reflection of both the public's disapproval of his clashes with Congress on the issue of spending and a growing opposition to Obamacare. At least that’s what two new polls would seem to indicate. According to the Bloomberg National Poll of 1,000 adults conducted Sept. 20-23, the president has a 45 percent job-approval rating, while a Gallup survey of 11,259 adults taken Sept. 1-22 gives him 44 percent. The Gallup survey seemed to show that Barry is rapidly losing support within his own party, but I’m not so sure that that bother’s all that much either.

While he’s still supported by an impressive 78 percent of Democrats, he has lost 13 points from a high of 91 percent in the month after his re-election. "Loss of support from a president's core supporters is an ominous sign, as they are typically the last group to abandon the president when things go sour," Gallup said in a statement. I guess I don’t get what’s so ominous about it. I mean, what’s Barry got to worry about? Gallup says, "Obama still enjoys the support of the vast majority of Democrats, 78 percent, but that is down 13 points from the end of last year and is 6 points below his average 84 percent approval rating from Democrats throughout his presidency." Let’s face it, Barry couldn’t care less!

While the two polls may have been bad news for the president, they were said to be even worse for Republicans. Which, I would argue, simply reveals the level of ignorance possessed by those who took part in both polls. Respondents to the Bloomberg survey, for example, blamed both Barry "Almighty" and congressional Republicans for the partisan mess in Washington over spending and the debt limit. But they still give the president a better favorability rating at 47 percent to Republicans' 34 percent. So at a time when we have a president determined to spend us into bankruptcy, people seem to get more pissed when any attempt is made to say no to the spending. I’m just not seeing the logic there.

The American people are going to have to come to some sort of a realization here that we simply cannot go on spending like we have been. We are, at some point, going to have to throttle back, and the longer we wait to do that the more painful it’s going to be. And they need also be mindful of the fact that it’s not going to be very long before we reach that much talked about point of no return. That point after which we can cut all the spending that we want, but where the damage done will have been so extensive, that there’ll be just no way to fix things. So we can get mad at the Republicans, but right now, like it or not, they’re all that lies between economic survival and certain economic ruin.

Which brings me to asking this question: Just how much more damage are Barry and the Democrats going to have to do before enough people start placing more of the blame where it rightfully belongs. Now I’m not saying that the Republicans have clean hands here, but perhaps if more folks were to make it known that they would be willing to support the truly tough measures that we all know are going to be necessary, more Republicans might be willing to actually push for them. For instance, suppose the majority of Americans got behind the notion that if a government shutdown, which is really not a shutdown, is what’s necessary to get us back on track then, so be it, shut the government down.

But NO! Far too many Americans believe the lying, scum-sucking Democrats and their many minions in the state-controlled media. These same folks choose to ignore, completely, the consequences of doing what it is that the Democrats want to keep doing. SPEND! We have to get together and tell Barry "Almighty" & Co. to go fu*k themselves. If we need to shut down the government then we should be in favor of doing just that. We won’t like it, but, at this point, we’ve really been left with no alternative. And we would also need to come together as Americans and tell our politicians, both Democrat and Republican that if they refuse to do what’s necessary, we WILL vote out all those that we can in 2014.

The bottom line here is that those Americans who are truly interested in rescuing their country before Barry manages to drive it over the cliff, are going to have to put their respective party labels aside. We are going to need to cease being Democrats or Republicans, it gone beyond that now. We need to be, Americans. That’s our only hope. It’s either that or we continue to sit around and tell the boobs who take polls who we think is to blame for the mess that we’re in. But the truth is, we’re to blame. We’re the ones who have somehow allowed ourselves to be convinced that there’s such a thing as "free money." But there ain’t no such thing. That ‘free money’ is actually coming from our kids.

There’s plenty of blame to go around, but over the course of the last four years I think it’s plain to see who the bigger culprit is when it comes to spending. We had one party who was intent upon spending money faster than it could be printed and another party too squeamish to do anything about it. We were far too willing to believe the rhetoric that said all we needed to do was to just tax those rich fat cats a little more. But no one seemed to stop and think about the fact that it’s many of those same rich fat cats who create many of the jobs in this country. And the more money they’re forced to hand over the government, the fewer jobs they will be able to create either through their own businesses, their investments or by the purchases that they make.

Well I suppose I’ve rambled on long enough here. The only point that I’ve been trying to make here is that maybe we should all spend a little less time answering stupid polls that really don’t matter, and start focusing on those things that do matter, a lot. The Democrats do not have a solution for what’s needed, if our goal here, truly is to save our country. That’s because they are much too intent upon destroying it. That only leaves us with the Republicans. Granted, that’s not much, but it’s really all we have. We’ll need to use the Ted Cruz’s, the Mike Lee’s, the Rand Pauls’s to make our case for us and to convince as many others as possible to see the light and to get onboard. If we don’t, WE’RE TOAST!
