THE UPSIDE TO THE GOVERNMENT BEING SHUTDOWN…

Personally, I continue to be not the least bit bothered by Barry’s having decided to keep the government shutdown firmly in place. After all, how much of a government shutdown is it really, when we have only about 17 percent of the government that’s actually "shut down?" And for anyone out there who might actually be fretting over the whole thing, they really need do no more than to consider the fact that with this shutdown of the government comes a slowdown of putting in place of a whole host of Barry’s new and improved rules and regulations. That must be seen as a positive.

So for anyone who might be in search of that ever-elusive silver lining regarding our current government shutdown, The Hill has reported that the number of new federal regulations being pumped out on a daily basis, has now almost ground to a halt, with only the most ‘vital’ rules still being written. Ok, so I’m a little confuse here, I’d like to know what, exactly, constitutes a "vital regulation." Anyway, the fact that the regulation mill has at least been slowed is just fine with most conservatives and business groups. And that would be with yours truly very enthusiastically included!

Now of course, those who are responsible for the creation of ever more stronger and intrusive regulations will warn us that any delays in all of this idiotic rulemaking will surely jeopardize public safety and health. But how can that be when there are already very few, if any, aspects of our lives that aren’t already over-regulated by the government? I’ll take my little reprieve from the red tape, even if it doesn’t last long. I’m kinda glad that all the regulatory activities have fallen by the wayside. And the longer it goes on, the better off most of us are likely to be because of it.

Of course those ardent defenders of all those regulations will claim that nothing less than the wellbeing of the American people is at stake, if lawmakers are unable to end the budget impasse. "Regulations are vital for everything from protecting the environment, to maintaining public health, to ensuring workplace safety," Rep. Rosa DeLauro, a Democrat, said. "Anything that slows down the rulemaking process … is bad for American workers, consumers and families." Now while that may be how most Democrats see things, I’m just not thinking that that’s how most intelligent people view things.

The effects can already be seen in the Federal Register, where new regulations and draft rules are published daily. Monday’s edition of the Federal Register, the last one published before the shutdown, clocked in at more than 400 pages and contained 40 rules or proposals for the public to look over, covering everything from fees charged by U.S. Marshals to protecting the habitat for sea turtles. Oh ya, there’s some pretty "vital regulations" that we just couldn’t have been able to do without. Meanwhile, Friday’s edition was down to less than a third that size, and had just six rules

Republicans, of course, were more than happy to hear that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had cut back on its regulatory work. "I’m no fan of the EPA at all. So they certainly can’t perform any of their mischief if 93 percent of them are furloughed," Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, told The Hill. Hell, we even had a scum-sucking Democrat in the person of former Sen. Blanche Lincoln, who admitted that business groups are happy with the cutback in regulations, however temporary. "If they think potentially it means a week without regulations, they’re thinking, ‘Great, I have a week to catch up," she said.

But, sounding like the Democrat that she is, Lincoln, now with the National Federation of Independent Business said that no one who is serious wants to see all government regulations abolished. Maybe that goes for the majority of her fellow scum-sucking Democrats, but I’d be willing to wager that a substantial number of those in the small business community wouldn’t be too disappointed to see that happen. I think most rational people agree that our government has become far too intrusive, far too nosey and far too controlling. ‘We the People’ need to reassert ourselves.

Most of the headlines having to do with the shutdown make it very apparent that Barry is out to do his level best in making it, at least appear to be, as painful as possible. Such as barring WWII veterans, who we are rapidly losing more of each and every day, from viewing their memorial. Barry sees himself as being above the need to negotiate. He is Barry "Almighty" and therefore His will must be obeyed. This shutdown is all his. He is the one responsible, no one else. So let us make sure that we use this moment in time to our best advantage. Let it be our line in the sand, our "red line", where we will stand united against Barry’s efforts to destroy our country.
