‘DINGY HARRY’ REID SAYS, “HEY, IT’S NOT OUR FAULT.”

It would seem that sufficient evidence now exists that would seem to indicate that ‘Dingy Harry’ Reid has slipped into the beginning stages of dementia. His recent claim that the Democrats are in no way to blame for the government shutdown, should be seen as sufficient reason enough to call his sanity into question. He recently even went so far as to tell one reporter, "search the news accounts today and find anything that suggests that Democrats had anything to do with this shutdown." Now knowing our state-controlled media as I think we all do, the sad thing here is that ‘Dingy’ is probably pretty close to being right? It is, after all, the same state-controlled media that has long operated as the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party.

It was while at a press conference on this past Friday that ‘Dingy Harry’ was asked, "You have made this very clear that you cast this as a Republican shutdown. Are you concerned as this wears on, that at some point people start to blame Democrats, too?" To which old ‘Dingy Harry’ responded, "Well I tell you what, you search the papers with me today, you search the news accounts today and find anything that suggests that Democrats had anything to do with this shutdown." Now personally, if I were a member of the ‘mainstream’ media, I might now be asking ‘Dingy’ to perhaps come up with a different strategy, one that wouldn’t necessarily bring any additional scrutiny to those whom most Americans already don’t seem to trust all that much.

According to a Gallup poll released just last Friday it would appear that both Republican and Democratic congressional leaders are now being viewed negatively as a result of our partial government shutdown. And even Barry "Almighty" is now seen as taking a hit as well, at least according to Gallup. "A majority of Americans, 57%, say they now view President Obama more negatively as a result of the shutdown," the pollster said. How can he not be taking a hit? After all, who is it that has been standing on the sidelines, declaring, and very loudly I might add, that he WILL NOT negotiate? Since when is that an example of presidential leadership? Barry doesn’t get to make all manner of demand, and then expect us all to simply fall in line.

The fight over the shutdown is causing splits within the two political parties as well. A growing number of House Democrats have now broken with their party leadership over the past two weeks to vote with House Republicans in approving funding for at least some parts of the federal government that do not involve implementing Obamacare. As has already been reported, the number of Democrats voting for funding bills put up by the House leadership that were then blocked by the Democrat-controlled Senate has grown from 2, who voted for a measure to fund the entire government except Obamacare, to as many as 36 who voted to pay members of the National Guard when on inactive-duty training.

However, because the Democratic leadership in the Senate has stubbornly refused to support these measures, they have not been passed and sent on to Barry "Almighty" to see if he would actually veto them to maintain his leverage in trying to force the House to fund Obamacare. And there have also been various press reports that have indicated that at least 17 House Republicans have released statements saying that they would actually support passing a clean continuing resolution on to the Senate, even on that would include funding for Obamacare, in order to end the shutdown. And every one of these 17 Republican turncoats should now be firmly atop everyone’s list and marked very clearly as individuals in need of being defeated come 2014.

If the House, which is controlled by the Republicans, has been passing different pieces of legislation designed to fund various parts of the government, 26 at last count, and the Senate, which is controlled by the Democrats, has passed absolutely nothing, it should become pretty obvious, pretty quickly, who the primary speed bump is in this continuing resolution process, as well as being the main culprit in the shutdown of the government. Look, folks, this ain’t rocket science. The bottom line here is, we simply can no longer afford to go on spending the way we have been. It’s just a fiscal impossibility. Someone is going to have to play the role of the adult here, and that obviously is not going to be ‘Dingy Harry’ or Barry "Almighty."
