THE NUMBERS, UNLIKE THE DEMOCRATS, DO NOT LIE…

The Republican side of the Senate Budget Committee has put together the above little chart to show you, the American people, that the U.S. actually added two times more debt than there has been economic output in the last two years. Now Barry, as well as the congressional Democrats would have us all believe that there’s really nothing to worry about here, that they have the situation well under control. We’re constantly being told how we can all rest assured that their experts are watching everything very closely.

Now I’m sure that most of us here are quite familiar with Barry’s recent statement that should have left pretty much every rational thinking American scratching his or her head. You know, the one where he said that increasing the debt limit does not increase the debt. Now hating, as I most definitely do, to call Barry "Almighty" a despicable liar, when the Treasury department started using so-called extraordinary measures to avoid a breach of the debt ceiling in May, 2011, the debt limit then stood at $14,294 Billion.

Today our debt limit sits at $16,699 Billion, which was reached when Treasury started using extraordinary measures in May of this year. So that would be an increase of $2,405 Billion in just 2 years which would then make it very obvious, very quickly, that Barry’s little theory is a bunch of bullshit. Meanwhile, the economy, as measured by GDP, only increased by $1,199 Billion between the second quarter of 2011 and the second quarter of this year. So the debt increased twice as much as the economy over the last two years.

Now to me, and I am by no means a genius on matters of economic and/or fiscal policy, that would seem to be the classic definition of unsustainable. The growth of a nation’s debt cannot, for very long, exceed the growth of its economy, which, as you can plainly see from the numbers, is precisely what’s been happening. So as I asked in a previous post, how is it then, that the Democrats and Barry are both able to avoid being seen as the bearers of at least most, but most definitely not all, of the blame for where we now find ourselves.

So I would think it would be wise for people, regardless of their political persuasion, if they care at all about the futures of their kids, to start calling the House Republicans, if for no other reason than to offer up some moral support. We must make our voices heard, we must stand with them and against Barry "Almighty" and the Democrats. The saving of our country has now become just as much up to us as it is up to the House Republicans. We must let them know we are on their side and that the polls do not tell the true story!
