LOOKING AHEAD, VICE “FORWARD”…
I heard Paul Ryan say the other day that he still couldn’t believe that he and Mitt Romney had lost to these guys. And I thought to myself, I can. The guys who won were the ones willing to do whatever it took to win, meanwhile, the guys on our side, just didn’t seem like they wanted it that badly. And that’s what many people saw, and what resulted in the fact that 14 million people who voted in 2008, simply chose to stay home in 2012. That kind of lunacy cannot be repeated.
Maybe if Romney and Ryan had been a bit more willing to confidently support the conservative positions on the important issues instead of merely pussyfooting around things like they did, they might have been able to convince more people to turn out. And maybe if Romney had been a bit more aggressive in going after the guy whose job it was that he was supposed to be after, the same thing might have taken place. But nope, so our guys lost to what was, at least on paper, a much weaker team.
And now once again there’s talk among some on our side for the need of running a Jeb Bush or a Chris Christie. In other words, two more guys who have a rather difficult time getting in touch with their conservative side. Of course, that’s even if they have a conservative side. Because both of these guys seem to take a great deal of pride in being identified by that rather vague moniker of, centrist. And as we have now experienced in two presidential elections in a row, those guys simply can’t win.
Also with what’s now at stake, that being the survival of our country, we need to be much more willing to get down into the mud in doing battle with our opponents, and to go for the jugular in 2014 as well as in 2016. And we’re going to have to develop a take-no-prisoners mentality as well as to jack up the aggressiveness when it comes to how we approach the coming electoral battles. We will need to come to the table with strategies that will convince the voter who it is that has the better cure for what ails our country.
We’re going to needs guys, and/or gals, who aren’t afraid of a good fight, people who aren’t afraid to bloody a nose or to get their hands a little dirty. We need to make it crystal clear, and from the outset, that the shape our country is in today is not the fault of conservatism. We need to direct attention in the direction of nearly any big city or state where you have had liberals at the helm, so that folks can plainly see what lies ahead for this country if we remain on our present, and very liberal, course.
After eight years of having had Barry at the helm of this ship of ours, called America, it will most assuredly end up listing dangerously to the left and on the verge of capsizing. And by then very little will be needed to finally nudge it all the way over. And now there’s talk of Hitlery possibly running for president. If, God forbid, she were to actually win that’s all that would be needed to finally finish us off. So we on the right will need a strong, confident and viable candidate to oppose her or any Democrat.
We’re rapidly running out of time, things get more precarious with the passing of each and every day. And whether we’re talking about 2014 or 2016, while we must focus on the more conservative candidates, we must also focus on those candidates who have the best chance to win. We cannot afford to allow ourselves to lose sight of what the objective is here, which is the ‘righting’ of our ship. It is now imperative that the adults regain control of things with the children being sent off to their room.
