DEMOCRATS AND THE MYTH THAT IS ‘CLIMATE CHANGE’…

It seems that the Democrats are about to make what is a major contribution to that which many of them claim is the next apocalypse to engulf planet Earth, and what some of them have even gone so far as to label as the equivalent of a weapon of mass destruction. You see it’s a majority of Senate Democrats, beginning today, who will launch an overnight "talkathon" in an effort to draw attention to what is nothing more than the unproven theory of ‘climate change’.

This equivalent of a little overnight pajama party for Democrats, was organized by Sen. Brian Schatz, Democrat from Hawaii, the supposed home state of Barry’s, but which he seems to think is part of Asia. This latest circus is part of the recently launched Senate Climate Action Task Force which is headed up by that purveyor of all things nutty, none of than Babs Boxer of California and, in this case, her trusty sidekick, Sheldon Whitehouse from Rhode Island.

In a statement, Babs said Democrats want to "wake up Congress" to the dangers of climate change. What a cockamamie bunch of bullshit. While this marathon exhibition of insanity is not technically a filibuster, because there is no legislation currently under debate, since overnight sessions are rare it will still likely draw much attention to the topic by many Democrat allies in our state-controlled media. Which I think we all know is precisely the goal.

This idiotic exhibition by the Democrats is cause for much confusion because these senators are calling for action in a chamber that they control and in the absence of any specific legislation, or even any timetable for action this year. So what this should be reported as being, but most assuredly won’t be, is the political stunt that it is. But such labels are more often reserved for such events as the filibuster against the funding of Obamacare by Ted Cruz last September.

Whitehouse spokesmoron Seth Larson said the overnight event is "just one of a number of steps that the Senate Climate Action Task Force will be taking this year, and we hope it will help get more Americans engaged in the important debate about how we can act on climate change." The best way we can act on ‘climate change’ is to do nothing. This entire effort to promote ‘climate change’ is really nothing more than part of what is nothing but a very elaborate scheme.

The whole issue of ‘climate change’ has always proven to a rather politically volatile one. In the past Congress has tended to shy away from serious legislative efforts with the exception being when in 2010 House Democrats narrowly approved a bill to cap carbon emissions. That bill was ultimately viewed as contributing to the party's electoral losses that same year. Senate Democrats never even bothered to take it up. Maybe because it was a jobs killer!

At this point in time 28 Democrat senators have signed up to speak through Monday night, but as to be expected some of the party's most vulnerable senators facing re-election this year decided to take a pass. Such notables as Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Kay Hagan of North Carolina are missing from the lineup. They seem to be in no hurry to add to their current problem of having to try to defend their support for Obamacare,

Hopefully what this entire exercise in political fantasy may well end up doing is to provide what could be some rather excellent campaign footage for the Republicans to go along with what is already an over-abundance of Obamacare footage. But I can only guess that Democrats somehow see this as being an issue that they can also win on. Even when faced with the fact that there is less and less scientific fact that can be used to back up their claims. There’s no there, there.
