‘LITTLE DICK’ DURBIN SLAMS FREE ENTERPRISE…
In a speech made on the Senate floor, on Tuesday, it was everyone’s favorite boob and the guy who represents ‘The People’s Republic of Illinois, ‘Little Dick’ Durbin, who actually made the claim that free enterprise isn't always best, and that sometimes the government must step in. "The free enterprise system is a strong system," he said, but it "created unfairness and injustice when it came to health care, which we are addressing with this Affordable Care Act." That’s quite a bold claim that ‘Little Dick’ put’s forward, but that is far from what’s actually being implemented with respect to this horrible law.
In passing that law, ‘Little Dick’ claimed that Democrats "rejected the free enterprise approach to health care and said let's have something that basically respects families." In other words, a system that dictates the ONLY options that you may have when it comes to deciding how best to address whatever malady you, or a loved one, may become afflicted with. And of course in what I can only assume was yet another attempt by Dick to somehow defend Obamacare, he criticized Republicans for embracing free enterprise solutions. How dare they, since it’s socialist ideas that always work out so much better. NOT!
"Let me tell you a free enterprise idea when it came to health care. Before the passage of the Affordable Care Act, the free enterprise idea was this: If you were unfortunate enough in your family to have a sick baby; if your wife was a cancer survivor; if your child had diabetes, the free enterprise answer was, we will raise the cost of health insurance to the point where you can't afford it or we won't even offer it." What must it be like to be someone like ‘Little Dick?" To be able to so coldly lie to the American people while at the same time busily plotting against them behind their backs.
In his further attempt to slander our free enterprise system, ‘Little Dick’ claimed that another solution often touted by supporters of that system, was to sell insurance policies that offered limited protection and sent families into bankruptcy. He said, "That was free enterprise at work." ‘Little Dick’ went on to say, "What we said -- let's put some sensible rules of the road in here...so we passed the Affordable Care Act, and not a single Republican -- not one, not a single Republican -- would join us in that effort." I find it difficult to believe how anyone can take this asshole seriously.
Dick continued on with his drivel, saying, "The free enterprise system is the best system in the world, but there are moments when we need to step in as an American family, set some standards, set some goals." That ‘Little Dick’ would actually presume that the inserting of the government into the private lives of the American people somehow equates to us all being members of the same American family, borders on insanity. I’m not sure that would be a family I would want to be a part of. I don’t want to be the member of a family where I’m given just one option regarding medical treatment.
Dick admitted that Obamacare, aka Affordable Care Act, is not perfect and changes will have to be made --"but not a single Republican has been willing to sit down and work on bipartisan compromises and changes, not one. It's take it or leave it. And they want to walk away from it. And we're not going back to those old days." Remember now, back when this debacle was first being drafted outside ideas were neither solicited, nor accepted, from the Republicans. And it is that mindset that continues today regarding any potential fixes. Democrats remain completely uninterested in any Republican ideas.
