WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE???

THIS S "REACHING OUT" TO BACK VOTERS?

Ya know, it’s doesn’t do much to alter the perception that many people now have of the ‘Establishment Republicans’, aka RINOs, when you have the likes of Hitlery Clinton coming out and defending what were, in the opinion of many, nothing more than some very questionable, even sleazy, campaign tactics that were used in the GOP's bruising June 24 Senate runoff down in Mississippi. Tactics normally seen coming from Democrats.

But be that as it may, that certainly did not stop old Hitlery from talking about what she identified as being the "historical importance" of that recent election. Hitlery said that incumbent Thad Cochran's victory was ensured after "Republicans expanded their base." Now I can come up with any number of ways to describe what Cochran did in order to win the election, but working to "expand the base" isn’t even on my list.

‘Good ol’ Boy’ Thad Cochran and Tea Party-backed state Sen. Chris McDaniel were forced into a runoff after McDaniel, despite his getting more votes than Cochran in the GOP primary, failed to secure the 50 percent needed to declare victory. Cochran & Co. obviously recognized the fact that some pretty unorthodox tactics were going to be necessary if they were to have any hope that their candidate would win, set out to do just that.

So it was then that in preparing for the rematch, Cochran’s team went out and hired themselves someone that was identified as a Democrat "get out the vote" expert. And we all know what that means. Cochran's campaign focused on Democrats and blacks who did not vote in the June 3 primary using what were some pretty disgusting fliers that no doubt were the brainchild of the recently hired Democrat "get out the vote" expert.

Apparently voters in Mississippi don't have to declare party affiliation when they register, but must cast a ballot in the same party's runoff in which they voted originally. Personally, I’m think that’s kind of an idiotic setup. But Hitlery, while speaking at the Aspen Ideas Institute in Colorado during a tour for her book, "Hard Choices," said the strategy worked and Republicans should take note. I’m not surprised she would favor such a ‘strategy’.

Some of those in attendance at Hitlery’s little book event tweeted some of her comments. Washington Post reporter Philip Rucker tweeted: Hillary says Cochran Sen runoff was of "major historical importance because the Republican Party of Mississippi expanded its base." And MSNBC's Dave Weigel tweeted: "Hillary on #MSSen, salting the Tea Party’s wound: 'There’s a lesson in there. Expand your base. Get out of your comfort zone.'"

CNN reported that the former secretary of state said Cochran had "reached out to Democrats, and particularly black Democrats, and said, 'Join with us, Thad Cochran is a better choice.' And they succeeded." Well that’s not exactly an accurate portrayal of what Cochran and his team did. In fact, it’s nowhere near being accurate. There really wasn’t any "reaching out" that was done. Actually, it was kind of just the opposite.
